Before you climb, it’s time for Ground School! 🌲

Everyone who takes on the High Ropes course at Camp Ehawee starts with training on the ground. You’ll learn how to use the equipment safely, get comfortable with your harness and gear, and practice what you need to know before heading up. Then, you’re ready to challenge yourself, try something new, and see what you can do! 💚

Forty Girl Scouts from across the Coulee Region came together for JA Girl Scout Career Exploration Day at the Judy Corbett Hutchens Workforce Center. Through hands-on activities in finance, marine construction, and STEM, Girl Scouts connected with local professionals, explored exciting career paths, and discovered new possibilities for their futures.

And the Girl Scouts said it best:
💚 “This was the best Girl Scout event I have ever been to!”
💚 “This was so much more fun than I expected it would be!”

A huge thank-you to Junior Achievement, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse, and Rotary Works Foundation – La Crosse for making this incredible day possible. From thoughtfully planned activities to special patches, they helped create an experience filled with curiosity, confidence, and fun! 💚

Thank you to Ladybug Photography by Bekky Murphy for capturing the day!

Girl Scouts Advika, Ishanvi, and Prakruti of Troop 8247 are taking action with their Girl Scout Silver Award project, The Giving Tree: A Mini Library and Toy Box.

After noticing that their neighborhood park needed easier access to books, games, and playground toys, the Girl Scouts came up with a solution designed for everyone to enjoy. The Giving Tree will provide a weatherproof place where neighbors can borrow, share, and donate books, games, and toys. 📚⚽🎲

And they’re thinking beyond building it. The team is involving neighbors in stocking and decorating The Giving Tree and creating a plan for local kids to help care for it over time.

Through teamwork, problem-solving, and plenty of hands-on work, Advika, Ishanvi, and Prakruti are discovering just how much their ideas can do. Their project will encourage reading, outdoor play, sharing, and connection for years to come.

💚 Way to go, Troop 8247! Your Silver Award project shows what can happen when Girl Scouts turn an idea into lasting community impact.

EmpowerU isn’t just for Girl Scouts. It’s designed for adults, too.

Join us October 31 at Edgewood University in Madison, Wisconsin, for a day dedicated to learning, connection, and growth. Adults and volunteers can build their mentorship skills, connect with others in the Girl Scout community, and discover practical ways to support Girl Scouts as they grow.

Start the day with an inspiring keynote from Telva McGruder, GSUSA National Board Chair, then choose interactive sessions on working with youth through adolescence, keeping Girl Scouts engaged as they age, guiding projects from idea to action, and more.

As you help Girl Scouts discover their strengths and trust themselves, you’ll grow as a mentor and leader, too.

🎉 Congratulations to Lily and Emma from Troop 8117 on earning their Girl Scout Silver Award!

For their project, “Community Kindness Challenge,” Lily and Emma took action to address bullying and support mental wellness in their community. They created four Kindness Boxes filled with positive messages, crafts, stress relievers, and other uplifting items for anyone who might need a little encouragement.

Through the project, Lily and Emma grew as leaders, building skills in planning, budgeting, outreach, time management, and problem-solving. Their Kindness Boxes will keep the positivity going through an ongoing cycle of giving and sharing. 💚
