The month of March we focused on the asset of “Restraint and Decision Making”
Restraint means: Being able to pause and think before acting, even when you feel excited, frustrated, or pressured by others. Good decision making means thinking about your choices and considering what might happen next before you act.
Instead of a book this month, the Asset Builders read a poem on Decision Making.
It's titled “The Choice is Mine”
“Before I act or speak too fast,
I stop and think a moment.
A choice I make can change a lot
More than I might have known.
Some choices help, some choices hurt,
Some lead the wrong direction.
But when I pause and use my mind,
I make a wise selection.
I think about what might come next,
And who my choice might affect.
The best decisions often come
From patience and respect.
So when I play or when I work,
Or when I’m with a friend,
I’ll pause, I’ll think, I’ll choose with care
That’s how good choices win.”
One place where we practice restraint and decision-making skills without even realizing it is when we play games. Board games require players to:
🤔Think ahead
🤔Make strategic decisions
🤔Control their reactions when things don’t go their way
🤔Follow rules and take turns
🤔Decide what move will help them most in the long run
So the Asset Builders spent their morning playing board games!🥰
