PROFILE: Meet Jamaal Price, one of our outstanding Loaned Executives representing our friends at Huntington National Bank!
Our Loaned Executive program gives employees from our corporate partners a unique opportunity to step outside their everyday roles, gain valuable leadership experience, and play a hands-on part in making a difference right here in Central Georgia.
Jamaal will be helping our team build relationships with local businesses, strengthen community partnerships, and expand the impact of our work across the region. Fun fact: Jamaal is a second-generation loaned executive, with his father serving in our program with Georgia Power.
We're thankful to Jamaal for sharing his time and talents with us and to Huntington Bank for its continued commitment to investing in our community. Here's how Jamaal answered our questions:
1) Where do you work and what’s your favorite thing about that company?
"I work at Huntington Bank, and my favorite thing about Huntington is its involvement in the community. Huntington truly believes in giving back and investing in the people who live, work, and do business in the local area. From our involvement with the United Way to our Financial Literacy partnerships, I can truly say that we are a community-first bank, and I'm proud to be a part of that!"
2) What excites you the most about jumping in as a Loaned Executive with United Way of Central Georgia?
"I was very excited to join the Loaned Executive Team! My dad was a part of this program with Georgia Power years ago and he told me how rewarding it is to work with United Way. For myself, I'm looking forward to working with kids and helping them improve their reading and comprehension skills through Read United. I believe a child's ability to read will take them very far in life, and I love that United Way aims to bridge that gap."
3) How has understanding the ALICE framework shaped your view of needs in our community?
"Learning about what ALICE is and who in our community identifies as ALICE has been very eye-opening. People that we encounter in everyday life are very likely in the ALICE category. So many people are one event away from being in a situation where they have to make difficult financial decisions for their families. I'm happy that the United Way aims to assist families in getting the resources they need to survive and regain financial freedom. The Brookdale Resource Center and 2-1-1 also serve as great tools for families in need."
