Epitome Dog Rescue

Epitome Dog Rescue We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3 status, not-for-profit bull breeds rescue. They should never live on the end of a chain or in a kennel outdoors.

Our rescue dogs are only adopted out as indoor dogs who will be a part of their family. ePITome dogs are all spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations before the adoption is complete. They are all healthy and well-adjusted dogs to the best of our knowledge. We would never purposely adopt out a dog that could not be a positive member of their new family. However, the responsi

bility for the dog's sound behavior becomes the adopter's once they welcome the dog into their home. Obedience training, routines, consistency, strong leadership, and lots of love are key components that should be provided by the humans in the home.

LOVELY UPDATE ON KAIDEN!

Remember our Tenacious 3 from one year ago? Their story is one for the books with the rollercoaster of emotions and events, along with losing Killian before we could get him and losing Thor after we got Thor, Kaiden, and Lorecan. It is a story of urgency, defeat, triumph, sadness, and happiness; but most of all it is a story of unconditional love and resilience.

Here is Kaiden now! This boy is amazing and adored by his family. Kaiden had a vet appointment the other day for a little skin issue, and weighed in at a whopping 93 lbs.!! He is healthy and enjoying life! The photos show Kaiden now on the left and Kaiden one year ago on the right.

THIS is what your donations do. THIS is the difference support from our Epitome Nation makes in a dog's life. Support takes on many different forms including sharing/commenting on posts, networking, transporting, fostering, helping with fundraisers, adopting, and making donations of dog food/supplies/funds. Support is also caring veterinarians and vet staff who always do what is best for our rescue dogs.

In Kaiden's story, his family is his greatest blessing. As you may recall, Nakia saw our post for transport assistance a year ago for these dogs. She and James decided not to just drive one leg of a transport. Instead, they drove all the way to Southern Illinois, a 12+ hour round trip, to pick up Kaiden, Thor, and Lorecan. They fostered Kaiden and Thor through Thor's passing, then officially adopted Kaiden once his medical needs had been fully addressed. Kaiden is living his absolute best life with them, his brother Axel (also an Epitome dog), and now Gloria who will be adopted by Nakia and James once she is medically ready.

THIS is what we do and we are damn happy to have the whole Epitome Nation of bully breed lovers standing beside us. Thank you.

Are you getting tired of seeing posts about Heaven? If your answer is yes, guess what? We are getting tired and extremely discouraged to still be posting the same, adoptable dog for over a year now. BUT, we will still post her regularly until her forever family finally comes along.

HEAVEN -

She's a phenomenal dog with a GREAT personality! Heaven is fantastic with rambunctious, playful male dogs, and she is one of the friendliest dogs you'll ever meet. She would be great in a home with older children, but she might be a bit too much for younger ones. However, Heaven might be great with younger children as our bully breeds often sense the littles need delicate care. We won't know until we get to see her with them.

When first meeting Heaven, you'll see she gets pretty excited when people are around. After that initial excitement wears off though, she chills fantastically. I've been going out for weeks doing clicker training with her and she's a smart girl! She picks up pretty quickly, despite the fact I'm no expert with the clicker. We are learning together.

FOSTER HOME NEEDED!!!

This little guy is Sterling. He is currently a shelter dog with our local shelter. We were asked to bring Sterling into the rescue and we said YES!...if we can find a foster home for him. Sterling is 3 to 4 months old, so just a baby. He is in a TEMPORARY foster home with other animals and doing well. Our local shelter is FULL. When they are full, they close intakes because there is no space for additional animals without euthanasia happening. If we pull Sterling, that makes room for another dog in need. Making room can prevent pets in our community from being dumped due to closed intakes at the shelter.

***We cannot finish their heartworm treatment without having the funds to pay for it.***

Update on Gloria and Bert's heartworm treatment: You all have been wonderful to us by donating $1800 so far! We have a goal of $2,000 as it stands right now, so please help us if you can by spreading the word and making a donation.

Gloria and Bert have started treatment, but we cannot continue their treatment without funds to pay for it. Staying on the heartworm treatment schedule is critical to the success of it. Please help if you can.

Guess what!? The babies are here! We have been hiding them all week because we think they might break the internet with alllll their cuteness!! Heheh! Actually, it's been a ridiculously busy week, and we just have not had time to share these adorabull kids.

David, Moira, Stevie, and Twinkle arrived Monday. David already has an approved adopter!! Moira, Stevie, and Twinkle (all girls) are happily waiting for their forever families to reach out for adoption applications. For now, we will provide them with lots of TLC, cuddles, and all the good stuff they deserve. On this National Dog Day evening, we have kind of a big request. We would love to bring this guy in to the rescue and make space for another dog in need at our local shelter.

His name is Sterling and he's three to four months old. He's great with cats and with other dogs. We also hear he's a really sweet boy. Please contact us asap if you can offer Sterling a foster home or a Foster to adopt home.
