Epitome Dog Rescue

Epitome Dog Rescue We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3 status, not-for-profit bull breeds rescue. They should never live on the end of a chain or in a kennel outdoors.

Our rescue dogs are only adopted out as indoor dogs who will be a part of their family. ePITome dogs are all spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations before the adoption is complete. They are all healthy and well-adjusted dogs to the best of our knowledge. We would never purposely adopt out a dog that could not be a positive member of their new family. However, the responsi

bility for the dog's sound behavior becomes the adopter's once they welcome the dog into their home. Obedience training, routines, consistency, strong leadership, and lots of love are key components that should be provided by the humans in the home.

We are so sad for Heaven. 😔

Our precious girl has waited so very long for a real home. :( Can you help her find her forever family or a foster home with a family for now? Heaven has been in a facility based foster home since she came back to us last summer. She deserves to be in a real foster home or better yet, a real forever home. We are a foster home-based rescue, and it's been unfair to her to be in a facility type foster space all this time. No offense meant to her current foster as he's been wonderful to offer her space and work with Heaven, but we are foster home-based for a reason. It is better for the dogs' overall well-being to be in a home.

Heaven is 2 years old and fully vetted. Great with all humans, big and small. She doesn't know a stranger, and is happy to meet new people! As you can see, Heaven has the most expressive ears! She wears her emotions in those ears, for sure. AND look at her gorgeous natural eyeliner!! Heaven is definitely stunning!

She likes male dogs and gets along very well with them. Heaven has a lot of energy (possibly because of the environment), so we think a fenced backyard would be perfect for her. Once her energy shifts to chill mode, Heaven will happily entertain herself while you are busy. She settles well, and obeys commands. When you are ready to chill for the evening, she would really love to be your cuddlebug.

Please contact us via private message if you are interested and able to provide Heaven a comfortable place in a real foster home or forever home. If you just want to do a visit with her for a weekend or a couple of overnights during the week to begin with, let's do it! Just hit us up for more information, please. Please!! Someone needs to give this sweet old man a soft place to land for the end of his days on Earth. I would do this in a heartbeat if my house was what he needs, peaceful and calm. My heart cries for him. 🥺 - Angie

***UPDATE...SMOKEY HAS FOUND A HOME! THANK YOU PAUL AND FIONA!***
SMOKEY NEEDS A NEW HOME. Smokey was formerly Cheech when he was a pup with our rescue. He was adopted about 4 years ago, and has been living a great life. Sadly, Smokey is going to lose his home due to a very serious medical condition of one of his adopters. The adopters have tried everything they can to prevent needing to give up Smokey, but the medical condition is getting worse.

Smokey is a healthy approximately 5 year old Husky/Boxer/Beagle? mix. He is fully vetted, weighs 55 lbs., and is up to date on vaccinations. Smokey went through formal obedience training when he was first adopted. Smokey's mom says he is Energetic, Loves to play with toys and loves walks. He also Loves attention and going on car rides. He was enrolled in a dog park daycare, and absolutely shines with his interaction with other dogs. He loves the dog park so much he never wants to leave! Cats are unknown at this time, but that is because he hasn't been around them.

Smokey is great with kids, loves people, and is a good dog who is not aggressive at all. We cannot help Smokey without a foster home for him to go to until a forever home comes along. Better yet, adopt him outright from his current family. We are happy to put you in touch with them directly. Smokey is currently living in the Chicago area.

If you would like to speak with his current family or you are interested in fostering/adopting Smokey through us, please contact us through Messenger. We really want to help Smokey and keep him from going to an open access shelter which will be his family's next option if they cannot rehome him.

***UPDATE - A foster home has been secured! Thank you Lisa and Danielle! We are no longer taking applications for adoption as we have quite a few. Thank you!***

URGENT SITUATION!! This is Rachel. She is a low-rider, 55 lbs., American Bully. She was dumped along an interstate after she was bred, gave birth, and weaned her puppies. The owners likely kept one or two of her babies, sold the rest, then threw her away like trash now that they no longer needed her. Rachel was spotted and trapped, then taken to an already overflowing animal control facility. She has completed a mandatory stray hold, and is now living on borrowed time. A volunteer took Rachel home for a brief stay last night to assess her, but she goes back to the shelter today.

Rachel needs RESCUE. She needs US. Here is what we know about her from the assessments done both at animal control and at the volunteer's home. Rachel is great with other dogs, great with cats, house trained, and has excellent house manners. The shelter has updated her vaccinations, and she is heartworm negative. They are spaying her for us today in the hope we can find a space for her.

We need a foster or adopter for Rachel now. Please contact us via Messenger to apply and please share. Epitome Dog Rescue, Macomb, IL
