The Miss Illinois Scholarship Organization, Inc. - Nancy Foote Memorial Scholarship was established in 2016 as a lasting memorial to the work and dedication of Nancy Foote, who passed away on March 24, 2016. Nancy was Co-Executive Director (with husband Bob) of the Miss Macomb Scholarship Pageant for 57 years (1960 – 2016) and held various positions on the state level with the Miss Illinois Scholarship Pageant. Following Nancy’s death, Bob retired as Executive Director of the Miss Macomb Scholarship Pageant, but continued his service to the Miss America program as a member of the Miss Illinois Scholarship Organization (MISO), Inc. Board of Directors up until his passing on April 1, 2023.

The $2,000 scholarship ($1,000 scholarship until 2019) will be awarded annually at the Miss Illinois Scholarship Pageant to the finalist with the highest interview score. The inaugural Miss Illinois Scholarship Organization, Inc. - Nancy Foote Memorial Scholarship was awarded on June 18, 2016 at the Miss Illinois Scholarship Pageant in Marion, Illinois. The inaugural scholarship resulted in a tie and was decided by the family that both contestants be awarded a $1,000 scholarship each.

In 2023, the scholarship was renamed the Miss Illinois Scholarship Organization, Inc. – Bob and Nancy Foote Memorial Scholarship to honor both Bob and Nancy Foote. Winners of the Miss Illinois Scholarship Organization, Inc. – Bob and Nancy Foote Memorial Scholarship are:
Miss Quad Cities 2023, Jessica Tilton -$2,000 Scholarship
Miss Kankakee 2024, Jennifer Mancini - $2,000 Scholarship

Congratulations to the 2024 recipient of the Bob and Nancy Foote Memorial Scholarship - Miss Kankakee 2024, Jennifer Mancini! This $2,000 scholarship is awarded to the finalist with the highest interview score.

Congratulations Jennifer Mancini on joining the previous winners of this scholarship! Jaryn Franklin, Miss Blackhawk Valley 2016 and Kristen One, Miss Chicago 2016, were the inaugural winners of the Nancy Foote Memorial Scholarship in 2016 and received a $1,000 scholarship each; Summer Robbins, Miss Springfield 2017 received the award in 2017; and Breana Bagley, Miss Heartland 2018 received the award in 2018. In 2019, the scholarship was increased to $2,000 and was awarded to Megan Magee, Miss Chicago 2019-2020. Janna Harner, Miss Southwen Illinois 2021 won the award in 2021 and Annie Kamps, Miss Mississippi Crown 2022 won the award in 2022. In 2023, the scholarship was changed to the Bob and Nancy Foote Memorial Scholarship and was awarded to Miss Quad Cities 2023, Jessica Tilton.

Robert R. “Bob” Foote, 92, of Macomb passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in Macomb.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at noon on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb with a Celebration of Life reception to follow at his residence in Macomb.

It is with great sadness that I let you know our dad, Bob Foote, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:55pm.
We are finding comfort knowing he is once again together with our mom.
We will have a graveside service with military honors at noon on Saturday, May 20th at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb followed by a celebration of life reception at our home.
