The illicit drug supply is constantly evolving, with new synthetic substances emerging faster than many communities can track.

One of the latest substances raising concern is cychlorphine — a powerful synthetic opioid believed to be significantly more potent than fentanyl and difficult to detect with standard fentanyl test strips.

Learn more about what cychlorphine is, why public health officials are sounding the alarm, and what communities need to know at apcbham.org/blog.

Today we honor HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day—a day to recognize the strength, resilience, and history of those who have lived through the earliest and most difficult years of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and continue to thrive today.
To all long-term survivors: you are not forgotten. You are not invisible. You are deeply valued.

Shout to all the men suffering with their mental health with no one to turn to as society taught men to mask their emotions. We need to encourage men to speak up, not man up. Talking saves lives.

Naloxone isn’t exclusively for individuals struggling with addiction. It’s for the toddler who inadvertently ingests a pill at the park. It’s for the friend whose beverage was surreptitiously spiked. It’s for the teenager who makes an uncharacteristic poor decision. It’s for the grandparent who forgets they already took their medication. Accidents don’t discriminate, and neither should we. Like insulin, naloxone saves lives. Both should be accessible to everyone. Let us put an end to the debate. Let us prioritize saving lives.
