This year’s NENSA Coaches conference is scheduled for November 14th and 15th, and we're thrilled that the Craftsbury Outdoor Center will be hosting. Please note that this is a date change from the save-the-date shared earlier this summer.

Our annual coaches conference is designed for all coaches from youth parent leaders to college coaches. Come learn in a community-centered environment and connect with other coaches and leaders from across the New England region. This full weekend learning opportunity will feature the BKL Parent Leaders Symposium and coaches education for High School Junior, and College Coaches. The conference will also include US Ski & Snowboard (USSS) Level 100 ans 200 Assessments.

NENSA is pleased to share that our Annual Fall Event Organizer & TD Seminar will be hosted by the Prospect Mountain Ski Area on the weekend of October 17 & 18.

This year’s seminar will run from 10:30am on Saturday to ~12:30pm on Sunday to accommodate participants making longer drives. This seminar is designed to support and strengthen event hosting across all levels of our sport. All organizing committee members, coaches, and interested community members are warmly invited and encouraged to attend.

Women’s Day 2027 is headed to Dublin, NH!

We’re excited to announce that the 26th edition of NENSA Women’s XC Ski Day will take place at the Dublin Outdoor Center in Dublin, NH on Sunday, February 14, 2027.

Since 2002, Women’s Day has been a place to connect, learn, laugh, and thrive on skis, and we can’t wait to bring our community together again.

New for 2027: We’re introducing a refreshed lineup of clinics focused on individual goals, from building confidence and improving efficiency to developing climbing and descending skills and learning how to ski faster and farther.

We’ll also welcome endurance athletes from running, cycling, and other sports with clinics highlighting the crossover between Nordic skiing and endurance fitness, along with a new Coach the Coach Session for BKL coaches and parent volunteers.

And of course, we’ll have the things that make Women’s Day special: a delicious lunch, sponsor expo, ski demos, raffle prizes, and a wonderful community of women who love winter and adventure.

Recently, NENSA joined SMS Camp for a day of rollerski agility, with a course featuring slaloms, loops, off-roading, over-unders, starts, and a new hairpin glideout challenge designed by our Competitive Program Director, Ben.

The SMS BKL campers were first up, putting their skills to the test before the Juniors rolled in to tackle an even more challenging course. We saw some seriously impressive skiing, and plenty of athletes embracing the challenge of skiing on wheels!

Camp visits are one of our favorite parts of the summer: a chance to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new skiers and coaches, and spend time with the many clubs and communities that make up the NENSA network. ❤️

Thanks to SMS for having us, and to all the coaches and athletes keeping Nordic skiing moving all summer long!

"I remember my first festival in Putney in 2003 and they had an Olympic theme and invited back Olympians from all over the United States, and it was so much fun to have all of those friends together. There were these giant lollipops that guided the littlest skiers, so you really saw this full spectrum. One feature was a group ski with the Olympians around the lollipop course. We hadn’t brought skis, so Bill hopped on Sophie Caldwell’s, and, wow, those were speedy! That was a hoot!"

The future is in the Adirondacks this week, as 41 U16 athletes from across the country have converged on Lake Placid for U.S. Ski and Snowboard's National U16 Camp, presented by , and hosted by .

The Champlain ferry's been busy shuttling the NENSA community over for US junior Skiing's great big get together all week, with 5 New England athletes, NENSA's Ben Theyerl and Steve Bruner coaching, and some very special guest appearances from US Ski Team Head Coach Matt Whitcomb and Julia Kern!

We're happy to report the ADKs are making a great first impression on the future of U.S. Skiing!
