About Us
Dedicated volunteers interested in supporting the Lyme School community have always stepped up and given their time, expertise and financial support. Due to the small size of our community, this had been an informal arrangement that was easily managed with an ad-hoc approach to financial management (money in/money out) for specific projects, and was constrained by time and volunteer interest which can ebb and flow over the years.
We identified the potential pit-falls to this arrangement, and realized that we needed to formally unite under one non-profit umbrella, which gives us certain legal rights and obligations. Jonathan Voegele was instrumental in getting us that official 501 c-3 non-profit charity organization recognized by the federal government and registered in the state of NH. Collectively, the funds managed under the LSPA, support programming and activities at the Lyme School. The PTO manages the general fund and the Artist in Residence fund. The Principal’s Fund is established to provide a measure of equity among those within our school community, ensure that no one is excluded from activities due to financial limitations, recognize contributions and service to the Lyme School, and to enable the school to meet needs which are not met by the school’s annual budget.
