This morning we came outside to find Marlin with blood on him (not his own). Marlin had killed a wild animal last night that was a threat to his livestock. We always mourn the death of anything that dies on our farm but are also so incredibly proud of our livestock guardian dogs for doing what they were bred to do. While these dogs are very much a part of our family they are not pets, they are working dogs that need to be able to do their job to be happy and fulfilled. When you have a farm there is always a balance between keeping livestock safe and co existing with wildlife. This animal tried a little too hard to kill our chickens and paid the price. We did not lose a single chicken thanks to this incredible dog. Since we’ve had our LGD’s we’ve never had a single animal die from a predator. Thank you Marlin for all that you do!

We partnered with the Watch Hill Lighthouse Friday for an amazing opportunity to graze our sheep. This was so much fun and gave us the chance to educate people on our sheep, our sanctuary program, and how beneficial this is to the land. Thank you to everyone that helped out. Photos are by

We had a photo shoot at the Farm and Atlas and I got some special pictures. This crazy goat started this whole journey so it seemed appropriate. He’s mean to everyone except me but was especially good for this shoot. I’ll post more photos of the shoot in the next couple days!

Also baby Atlas late March 2022 at work.

Atlas used to come to work with me as a baby. He was the sweetest, cutest baby. That tote lasted a whole week before he discovered he could easily jump out. This is late March 2022. Who knew he would grow into such a beast of a goat 😂

We’re going to do a couple days of the animal that started this crazy rescue journey. Atlas was born in late March of 2022 on one of the coldest days in March, I found him freezing and half dead right after being born. His mom was abandoned on our property a couple days before he was born and we had no idea she was pregnant. We warmed him up brought him back to life. Atlas’s mom rejected him immediately and I became his mom. He’s my first bottle baby, my first goat (originally I very much didn’t want goats). He became one of the loves of my life and I’m his person. He’s the reason we have now rescued 20 more goats that live at the sanctuary. This picture is maybe 5 hours after he was born. ❤️
