WE DID IT, LUFKIN! 🎉

The Texas Commission on the Arts has officially designated the Lufkin Cultural District!

This milestone recognizes something our community already knows:
Art is in Our Nature. 💚

Our artists, cultural organizations, businesses, public spaces, events, and community partners have all helped build the creative community we’re celebrating today.

Official designation gives Lufkin an even stronger platform to grow cultural tourism, increase visibility, build partnerships, support artists and businesses, and pursue Cultural District Project funding opportunities.

This did not happen overnight. It happened because people across Lufkin believed in the value of art, culture, creativity, and community.

Thank you for helping make this possible.

This is just the beginning.

What a night in Downtown Lufkin! 🧡🪗

Cotton Square is alive with music, dancing, amazing food, and neighbors enjoying a beautiful East Texas evening together.

Thank you to everyone who came out early for the free Zydeco dance lessons with Robbie Kuykendall, grabbed dinner from Danny’s Taqueria and Bayou Boilers, and is spending the evening with the incredible Keyun & The Zydeco Masters!

This is exactly what Summer in the City is all about - free family fun, great music, local food, and making memories together in the heart of Downtown Lufkin.

If you’re still at home, there’s still time! Bring your lawn chairs, bring your friends, and come join us at Cotton Square. The music is going strong and the atmosphere is even better.
