I am currently sitting here on the island of Caye Caulker, Belize and about to head back, I have been reflecting on the last 3 weeks!
I have had the opportunity to lead two different teams to Belize. One from FBC Zavalla and one from the church where I am serving, Denman Avenue Baptist Church. It has been amazing to see the Lord move in mighty ways! Through the two groups we have seen 90+ youth and adults receive Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. We have worked three schools, two village markets, three different villages, a girls home, a transitional girls home, and Harmonyville Baptist Church.
The Lord gave me the opportunity to come here 27 years ago on a mission trip that I thought would be a one time opportunity. On that trip He gave me a love for this country and an even great love for the Belizean people. It has been amazing to see the Lord use so many people to come along side to love, share, and minister in His name to so many here in this beautiful country! It has been such a blessing!
It is also amazing to see the Lord light that same flame with this country and for the Belizean people that are so welcoming, hospitable, and eager to receive the Gospel!
I want to thank the different churches that have trusted me to prepare and lead them on their personal missionary journey to Belize. Each time the group believes that they are coming to be a blessing to them and it turns out that they are the ones that actually receive the blessings.
I want to thank Job Lopez, our Belize Mission Pastor, and his wife Mayra Lopez, for their help, guidance, and hospitality for each team. I also to say a BIG thank you to John Mcgee and his ministry Mission N Motion for the wonderful hospitality and housing accommodations in their mission house in Belmopan.
I also want to thank the church where I am currently serving, Denman Avenue Baptist Church, my pastor, Jacob Fitzgerald, and our mission committee, for embracing the ministry that the Lord has established here and joining the mission and vision of myself and 4-Fold Ministries to help reach Belize for Jesus.
I pray that the Lord will continue to use this mission to reach more and more people with the Gospel here, there, and everywhere!
Some of you have asked, “How can we help?” There are several needs and I want to share them with you. We are currently working and following the leading of the Holy Spirit to plant another church in Belize. This church will be in the village of Cotton Tree. The Lord gave me a vision to plant a church here two years ago. Through that, the Lord has provide for the purchase of property in the village through FBC Arcadia and leading of their pastors Joshua Lawrence McDonald and Stephen And Paige Wilhite. We are currently working to build a road to the property, put a fence around the property, build a pavilion, build a modest church building, and then a playground that the church and village kids can play on. To accomplish this it will cost an estimated $60,000-$65,000 USD. This will only happen when the Lord impresses on on your hearts of other Believers like you to donate to this cause.
