Lufkin's Summer in the City 2026 | Presented by Brookshire Brothers is almost here.

Eight Saturdays. One downtown. A full summer of live music, themed nights, family fun, food trucks, and community connection starts this Saturday in Downtown Lufkin.

Kick things off June 6 at Cotton Square with Skate Ranch and Texas Sized Virtual Reality/Hijinx To Go Hijinx To Go featuring outdoor skating and mini golf, plus Danny’s Taqueria , Kona Ice, and special activities with Kurth Memorial Library.

Summer in the City presented by Brookshire Brothers runs June 6 through August 1 with something new happening each week.

Last week at the Limners Art Renaissance Festival, artists shared their years of practice, passion, and education through their hand crafted artwork, music, stories, and creativity.

Now it’s your turn! But this time you’ve only got 30 minutes to create something original:
• a song
• a drawing
• a poem
• a dance
• spoken word

Capture it and post it.

Tonight was so special, a safe place for creatives to gather, share their heart and soul through their artwork and performances and support one another. Open to everyone so all could enjoy and add to their local art collections!
Thank you VFW POST 1836, Lufkin, for hosting us so generously and always being such a massive supporter of the creative community!
Thank you Joe Morales for leading the team in the second Art Fair for Limners and being the best cheerleader for the artists of Lufkin.
Thank you D'Anna Bragg for putting so many fun activities together and organizing the booth space - you were such a heavy hitter in the planning for this thing and you made it awesome!
Thank you Hadnot for making a heart that represent our creative community on both a mural and this 3D print!
