As summer begins, anticipation fills the air. Graduation, last day of school, parties, and BBQs are exciting milestones. Summer represents relaxation and memories. Speak the truth. Walk proud and tall. Build character, honesty, and leadership.

The other day, I caught myself saying to my granddaughter that I didn't like someone, and that another person was nasty. Right then, I realized something important.

Children are always listening. They learn from our words, our actions, and even our attitudes.

Being blunt and honest has always been part of who I am. But honesty without kindness can sometimes leave a bruise. The truth may need to be spoken, but how we speak it matters.

It was a reminder that if I want my granddaughter to grow into a strong, respectful, and compassionate person, I need to lead by example. Not just in what I believe, but in how I talk about others.

We all have moments that make us stop and think. This was one of mine.

Growth doesn't stop when we become adults. Sometimes our greatest lessons come from the little eyes watching us every day.

The Ludlow Parent Teacher Group deserves commendation for their outstanding effort. Yesterday's event was reportedly a huge success. The slide proved to be a hit among parents and the principal alike, providing the kids with unforgettable experiences. Good luck to the sixth-grade class on their graduation day, as they move forward to greater heights.
