Ludlow Rotary Donates to Ludlow 4th of July Fireworks and welcomes Parks and Recreation Director Nick Miele
The Ludlow Rotary Club recently welcomed guest speaker Nick Miele, Director of Ludlow Parks and Recreation, to discuss upcoming community events and initiatives including this year’s highly anticipated Fourth of July celebration.
In support of the festivities, Ludlow Rotary made a donation toward the town’s annual fireworks display, helping ensure a memorable celebration as the nation prepares to mark its 250th anniversary. Events like these not only bring the community together, but also provide a meaningful boost to local businesses, from restaurants and retail shops to lodging and service providers.
Miele also highlighted the many programs and activities offered through the Ludlow Community Center (LCC), located at 37 Main Street. Open to all, the LCC features a fitness room with cardio and strength equipment, as well as recreational opportunities including pickleball, pickup basketball, adult volleyball, and indoor soccer.
Miele, a graduate of Colby-Sawyer College with a degree in Sports Management, has played a key role in organizing community events such as The Great Easter Egg Hunt, Green Up Day and many more. This year’s Green Up Day will take place on May 2 at 8 a.m., with volunteers receiving supplies and gathering afterward for a community barbecue.
Additional upcoming events include:
May 9 – Little League Opening Day
May 16 – Fishing Derby at the Rod and Gun Club
June 12 – Senior Solutions: Aging Successfully
June 21–August 9 – Summer Concert Series at Veterans Park (6:30–8:00 p.m.)
June 22 – Co-ed Softball
