We're excited to share a special exhibition featuring the work of Neil Fallon, our Ceramics Shop Captain!

Clay Vessels: Where Fire Becomes Art explores the relationship between fire, ash, and clay, transforming traditional stoneware into expressive sculptural forms. It's wonderful to see Neil's creativity and craftsmanship showcased in this virtual exhibition.

Take a few minutes to explore his collection. We think you'll enjoy seeing where his work takes you!

The exhibition runs October 27 through December 27, 2026.

📚🛠️ Take a book, share a book! Lowell Makes is putting our tools, skills, and creativity to work on a project that will bring books to schools throughout Lowell!

It all started with a great idea from lifelong Lowell resident Vinh Le: build Little Free Libraries where kids and families can discover, share, and enjoy books right in their neighborhoods. With five school locations approved and books being donated by the Lowell Public Library, we’re rolling up our sleeves to make it happen!

Our first prototype is underway, and we’re looking for volunteers, creative minds, sponsors, and donors to help bring more libraries to life. 💛

🧶 Want to learn how to crochet? Let's get you started!

Join us at Lowell Makes for Crochet 101, a beginner-friendly class led by Harmonie Snow, one of the co-captains of our Fiber and Mixed Media (FaMM) crew.

You'll learn the fundamentals, from basic stitches and hook sizes to increasing and decreasing stitches, binding off, and weaving in yarn ends. You'll also get to explore different types of crochet and take home some goodies to help you on your way!

Already working on a crochet project? Bring it along! We'll save a few minutes at the end for questions and troubleshooting.
