Segmenting is the act of breaking apart words into their individual sounds. Want to practice? Follow these steps!

- Give your Decoder a word 🗣️

- Have them repeat the word, and slow it down to hear all the sounds

- Have them segment each individual sound onto their fingers ✋

- Don’t forget to encourage your Decoding Champion! 💪

Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day! ✨

Today we acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of the Indigenous people native to the lands we now call the Americas. 📚

This holiday is celebrated on the second Monday of every October and celebrations include traditional ceremonies, educational events, local festivals, and more! 🌱
