Nonprofits continue to play a critical role in supporting a democracy where every voice is heard and every vote gets counted. In the Commonwealth, one in ten Kentuckians is employed by a nonprofit – over 178,000 jobs. If we come together around a common cause – such as voter engagement – we will transform our collective future.

Day 1 is in the books! 💜

Our Fall Financial Empowerment Program is off to a great start! Today, everyone learned how to create a budget they can actually live with—and found out there’s more than one way to save money!

Anytime you deal with money, especially your own there can be some challenges, but this class is in it to win it!!! Next week, we’ll pull credit reports and learn how to use them to help improve our credit scores.

Fun stuff!! 😂💜

Y'all did this! 💜

We woke up this morning and we are still taking it all in. Our Give For Good goal was $10,000, and you all helped A Hand Up raise $13,405!

$13,405, y'all!! We went $3,405 OVER our goal! 🙌🏾

I spent way too much time yesterday refreshing that page 😂 and watching the number go up. Every time another gift came in, I was just grateful.

So many of you gave, shared our posts, sent texts, called your friends, prayed for us and kept cheering us on all day. A special thank you to the A Hand Up Board who showed up and showed out!

THANK YOU! We really do appreciate you. 💜

For the past couple of weeks, we've been asking, “What Does A Hand Up Look Like?”

Well, I think we got our answer.

It looks like YOU. All of you. 💜

TODAY IS THE DAY! 💜

For the past couple of weeks, we’ve been asking one question: What Does A Hand Up Look Like?

We’ve shown you some of our kids learning about money and preparing for their future. We’ve shown you adults learning how to budget, reduce debt, improve their credit and work toward homeownership.

Today, the answer to that question is a little different.

Today, a hand up looks like YOU.

It’s Give For Good Louisville, and we’re asking our friends, family and community to help us reach our $10,000 goal.

We’re already off to a great start, but we’ve still got some work to do — and I know we can do it! 😊

Whether you give $25, $50, $100 or whatever amount works for you, every gift helps us continue doing this work.

Will you Give A Hand Up today? 💜

Okay, y’all…we are off to a GREAT start! 💜

Give For Good Louisville isn’t officially until tomorrow, but early giving opened today and A Hand Up has already raised $1,800 toward our $10,000 goal!!!! YAY!!!!

And I’m not mad about it! 😂

Thank you so much to everyone who has already given. I really do appreciate your support and your belief in the work we are doing.

Now, we still have a little ways to go — $8,200 to be exact — but who’s counting? 🙋🏾‍♀️😂

Tomorrow is the big day, and I’m excited to see how Louisville shows up for all of the participating organizations!

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been asking, “What Does A Hand Up Look Like?”

Tomorrow, we’re going to ask YOU to help us answer that question. 💜

TOMORROW IS THE DAY! 💜

Last week, we asked everyone who came out to support us at Blaze Pizza to please remember us again on September 10.

Well...September 10 is tomorrow! 😊

Give For Good Louisville is one of the biggest giving days of the year for our community, and tomorrow we're asking our friends, family and supporters to Give A Hand Up.

Your support helps us continue teaching our young people about money, helping adults work toward financial stability and homeownership, and being there for families who need a hand during difficult times.

Tomorrow, I hope you'll remember A Hand Up. 💜

Good Pizza. Great People. And a Good Time!💜🍕

Last night was a good night! We had a ball!!! Thank you to everyone who came out to Blaze Pizza to support A Hand Up. We ate some pizza, spun that wheel A LOT😂, gave away some prizes and, most importantly, got to spend time with some pretty awesome people who help to make our work possible.

We don’t take their support for granted. Every time you show up, share a post, tell someone about A Hand Up or make a donation, you’re sowing into the lives of so many individuals.

Thank you, Blaze Pizza, and thank you for giving A Hand Up!

Now… On to GIVE FOR GOOD LOUISVILLE on September 10! 💜

Budgeting, saving, and making good financial decisions are things many of us had to figure out as adults. We want our young people to have that knowledge before they need it.

This summer, financial education was an important part of our Building Cycles of Success Program. Our kids had the opportunity to learn it, work through it, and show us what they learned.

That's a hand up. 💜

A Little Summer Fun with the A Hand Up Board!💜

We spend a lot of time throughout the year working, planning and making sure our programs come together, so it was nice to take a little time this summer to just relax and enjoy each other’s company.

I’m so thankful for this group and the time, talent and support they give to A Hand Up. And yes, we know how to have a little fun too!😊
