The Lopez Island Family Resource Center will be closed on Thursday, June 25 so our staff can attend and the Indigenous Peoples Celebration Day on Güemes Island.

This special event honors Indigenous culture, traditions, and community through storytelling, music, dance, cultural demonstrations, and shared learning.

We are grateful for the opportunity to participate and deepen our relationships with Indigenous partners and communities throughout the region.

Our office will reopen during regular business hours on the following business day.

Bring your little ones for giant bubbles, beach play, snacks, and a chance to connect with other families while enjoying one of Lopez's favorite summer traditions.

Whether your child wants to learn lifesaving skills, explore Lopez's incredible shorelines, or try something completely new, now is the time to sign up.

Join Us for this year's Indigenous Celebration Day!
This year on Guemes Island!

On June 25, community members of all ages are invited to gather at the Guemes Island General Store for an afternoon of culture, connection, and celebration.

Enjoy traditional singing and dancing, storytelling, cultural crafts, canoe rides, demonstrations, food, and local vendors while honoring the rich traditions and living cultures of Coast Salish peoples.

This free community event offers an opportunity to learn, listen, celebrate, and come together in a spirit of respect and relationship.
