The Santa Fe Group stands with the National Dental Association, Inc. and the California Dental Association in calling for a complete investigation into allegations that an asylum seeker died in ICE custody due to an untreated tooth infection.

We join them in urging a full investigation into this preventable death, a review of medical and dental protocols within ICE detention facilities, and the implementation of policies and procedures that ensure all health-related concerns, including tooth pain and infection, are assessed and addressed with the urgency and seriousness they deserve.
