Today, we launch our month-long Mother’s Day campaign: Legacy in Bloom 🌷 This foundation was born from a mission to turn a mother’s love into a lasting legacy for her daughter—a legacy that now paves the way for others.

Our goal? To fuel our 2026 scholarship fund, specifically created to help young Black women flourish and lead in their academic journeys. Last year, your generosity helped us raise $X, and this year, we’re dreaming even bigger.

Deep roots.
This Earth Day, we’re reflecting on a moment from Legacy in Bloom our March community beautification event in West Long Beach.
We all put our hands in the soil, and helped plant a 10 trees that will outlive all of us.

This is what Lauren believed in. That community is something you tend. That the young women we invest in today are shaped by the environment, the shade, the care around them. That legacy isn’t a memory it’s something you plant.

No gender, race, or background should be a barrier to opportunity. Today and everyday, we celebrate women across the globe and continue to push for equal opportunity and justice for all women and girls.

Our organization is dedicated to empowering and inspiring young women, while ensuring that they have the support, confidence and tools they need to succeed. We aim to uplift these young women, and hope that they grow to inspire the next generation and so on.

I’m the Founder and Executive Director of Lauren’s Legacy Scholarship Foundation, created in honor of my daughter Lauren. What began as a personal journey of grief has grown into a mission to support young Black women ages 17–22 through scholarships, mentorship, community service, and a commitment to education and health equity.

Today we honor and celebrate the life of Lauren — our source of inspiration for this foundation and most of all, our beloved daughter, sister, cousin, niece and friend 🤍

It’s difficult to imagine our lives without her, but we continue to embody her spirit for community, joy and leadership each and every day.

In honor of our girl and Black History month, we share this quote from Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Lauren had such an excitement for life and love for community. She always knew how to make people feel joy and included, and we hope that this foundation will continue to bring people joy and help them feel empowered.

This foundation is one that we hope will keep Lauren’s legacy alive as well as her passion to help move the needle in helping young Black women flourish. If you feel empowered to do so, we encourage you to donate at the link in bio to support us in continuing serve our community 🩵

Empowering Young Black Women Through Education Lauren’s Legacy Scholarship Foundation was honored to participate in Councilwoman Tunua Thrash-Ntuk’s Black History Month Kick-Off Resource Fair in District 8 this past Saturday.
Our mission is clear: empower young Black women by breaking down financial barriers to higher education. Through scholarships, financial literacy programs, and internship opportunities, we equip students with the tools they need to succeed.
Thank you to Councilwoman Thrash-Ntuk for your leadership and to Hosanna Academy for partnering on this impactful event. We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with students and families, and we look forward to continued collaboration throughout the year.
