HIGH ADVENTURE BACKPACK

Troop 65 completed a High Adventure Backpack Outing on Catalina Island this past Labor Day weekend.

21 Scouts and adults from four troops in Long Beach Area Council joined the trek.

We ferried over, spent three days on the island, and hiked the rugged backcountry of Catalina through rain, heat, and steep climbs with amazing ocean views from mountain ridges.

One other wildlife obstacle . . . Bison. Twice the entire crew needed take a longer route because bison were blocking the trail.

A highlight on the outing was stopping at Airport in the Sky for lunch with bison burgers on the menu.

Proud of every Scout and adult who showed up ready to finish under tough conditions.

High adventure works when everyone pulls together.

Great weekend that tested endurance, patience and Scouting Skills.
