What a day for Long Beach. 💙

I-Nspire Community Coalition was proud to partner with the City of Long Beach on the inaugural My Brother's Keeper Long Beach Summit at Long Beach City College.

More than 100 people joined us: young people, parents, advocates, community stakeholders, government agencies, and elected officials from the City of Long Beach, the County of Los Angeles, and the State of California, united around one goal: better outcomes for our young people, especially boys and young men of color.

The summit marked the official launch of Long Beach 360, a framework for aligning violence prevention efforts across sectors so that no young person falls through the gaps between systems.

I-Nspire was honored to lead the Long Beach 360 programming, with our Founder & CEO, Robert E. Robinson Jr., moderating The 360 Panel: Full Circle — One young person. Every system. One table.

🎥 Special message: California Attorney General Rob Bonta, whose video message affirmed the State's commitment to community violence prevention and to the young people of Long Beach. Thank you to Albert Lord and the California Department of Justice CARE Office for its partnership.

🎤 Keynote: Anthony Ammons Jr., Community Advocate and Champion, whose powerful story of transformation and second chances opened the conversation.

💙 Today is World Mental Health Day. 💙

This year's theme is "Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change." At I‑Nspire Community Coalition, we're saying it plainly: Black men, your voices deserve to be heard.

The numbers tell us why this matters:

📈 Su***de deaths among Black Americans rose 53% from 2014 to 2024, more than 10x faster than among white Americans.

⚠️ Black men ages 20–24 now have the highest su***de rate of any Black age group.

🏥 Only 39% of Black adults with a mental health condition receive treatment, compared to 52% of white adults.

🧒🏾 Su***de is the 3rd leading cause of death for Black youth ages 10–24.

Too many of our brothers, fathers, sons, and mentors carry the weight in silence. We were taught to be strong. But real strength is speaking up, checking in, and letting someone walk with you.

Through our Brotherhood Sanctuary, our From a Prince to a King rites of passage program, and our wraparound support, we create safe spaces where Black men and boys can share their stories, heal together, and grow into who they're meant to be.

Today, we invite you to:
🗣️ Speak up. Your story matters, and so does your pain.
🤝 Check in. Call your brother, your friend, your son. Ask how they're really doing.
💪 Reach out. Asking for help isn't weakness. It's leadership.

The MBK Long Beach Summit is TOMORROW! 💙

I-Nspire Community Coalition is honored to partner with the City of Long Beach, Project Optimism, Love Beyond Limits, Long Beach College Promise, 23 Seeds of Greatness and KRS Training & Development.

Together we'll launch Long Beach 360, a community-led initiative for youth safety, well-being, violence prevention and systems change.

Join youth, families, educators, community leaders and public institutions for a day of youth presentations, a CVI honor ceremony, a keynote, a cross-sector leadership panel, breakout sessions and networking.

I-Nspire Community Coalition is proud to partner with the City of Long Beach, Project Optimism, Love Beyond Limits, 23 Seeds of Greatness, and community organizations across the city on the MBK Long Beach Summit, the official launch of Long Beach 360.

Join us for a day centered on our youth. It includes youth presentations, a Community Violence Intervention honor ceremony, a keynote, a leadership panel, breakout sessions, and a free community resource fair, open to the public from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Happy Youth Justice Month! ✊🏾

This October, I-Nspire Community Coalition stands with young people and families across Long Beach. Every young person deserves a second look, a second chance, and a community that believes in who they are becoming.

Youth justice isn't only about what happens in a courtroom. It's about what happens before: mentorship, healing spaces, mentors who look like them, and real pathways to opportunity. That's why we do the work through From a Prince to a King, Her Crown, our Brotherhood & Sisterhood Sanctuaries, and our STEAM and creative arts programs.

This month, we invite you to:
🔹 Mentor or volunteer with a youth program
🔹 Learn how local policy shapes young people's futures
🔹 Speak life into a young person you know
Our youth aren't problems to be managed. They're promise to be nurtured. 👑

We are deeply grateful for the doors that continue to open in our mission to uplift, serve, and transform. 🙏🏽

​This Friday at Cal State Dominguez Hills, our founder will be presenting at the Homeless Care and Reentry Solutions National Symposium, leading a critical conversation on Access and Continuum of Care for the Justice-Involved and Reentry Population.

​The session will focus on building vital bridges—connecting individuals transitioning home from carceral institutions to comprehensive, wraparound supportive services so they can safely and successfully reintegrate into our communities.

​For far too long, Black and Brown communities have faced severe systemic barriers and overrepresentation. Dismantling these systems and building true equitable pathways to care and support is at the very heart of what we do at I-Nspire Community Coalition.

❤️🖤💛 From Freedom to Liberation. From Survival to Thriving. ❤️🖤💛

Today, I-Nspire Community Coalition honors Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrates the resilience, strength, and perseverance of Black people throughout history.

While Juneteenth represents a significant milestone in the journey toward freedom, it also challenges us to ask a deeper question: What does liberation look like?
Liberation is more than the absence of chains. It is the presence of opportunity. It is access to quality education, economic mobility, safe communities, holistic wellness, cultural pride, and the power to shape our own futures. Liberation is healing from historical and generational trauma while building systems that allow our communities to thrive.

At I-Nspire Community Coalition, our work is rooted in the belief that Black communities deserve more than survival—we deserve flourishing. Through youth development, restorative justice, economic empowerment, mentorship, leadership development, and healing-centered practices, we are committed to helping create the conditions where liberation can be realized for generations to come.

As we honor the sacrifices of our ancestors, we also embrace our responsibility to continue their unfinished work. We celebrate how far we have come while remaining committed to the journey ahead.

May we continue moving beyond freedom toward liberation, beyond individual success toward collective empowerment, and beyond remembrance toward action.

To engage in real dialogue and solutions around:
✔️ Community violence prevention (CVIPI)
✔️ Trauma-informed healing & mental health
✔️ Restorative justice practices
✔️ Reentry & second chances
✔️ Workforce & economic opportunity

And critically, we are also connecting policy to practice, including conversations around key legislation such as:

AB 2247 (T.H.R.I.V.E. Act) – supporting healing-centered, trauma-informed, violence prevention strategies

SB 38 – strengthening pathways for accountability, rehabilitation, and reentry support
Because real change requires both community voice AND policy action working together.

This is the space where those conversations happen.
