Scout Sunday - Troop 140 hosted after service coffee hour for the members of our charter sponsor St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Lakewood. We can't thank them enough for their continuous support for just over 75 years.

Dear Troop 140 Family,
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Troop 140s longest serving Scout Leader, David Glynn, who passed on December 10, 2025. He was 85. Mr. Glynn was a dedicated leader, mentor, and friend to countless Scouts in Troop 140 over the last 55 years.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Mr. Glynn's wife Dorothy and his family during this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

On Saturday October 18 some of our scouts and leaders volunteered (community service hours!) at the Long Beach El Dorado Nature Center Howl-o-Ween Haunted Trails! Six hours on one of the hottest days this month (85°) Trail monitoring and assisting at trick o treat stations, and clean up. Awesome job and great visibility for Troop 140 and Scouting!

Conservation/service hours at the city of Long Beach El Dorado Nature Center and their 1st Saturdays Stewards program. Today's task was removing evasive, non-native ash and golden rain tree sprouts and saplings. Scouts learned how to use a "w**d wrench," a tool to ease in pulling saplings from the ground with most of the root structure to aid in slowing or stopping the spread of the plant. Great way to spend a couple hours on a Saturday morning assisting in helping maintain a great little habitat locally, in Long Beach!
