Hello! We will be preparing and serving a Dio de Los Mu***os aka Mexican themed meal this Sunday Oct 18th at the Bridgehouse Shelter. On the menu is chicken pazole with the fixings, beans, Spanish rice, dessert and bottled water. Without the support of the amazing community we would not be able to do these home cooked meals that we cook and serve with love! Thank you to all our donors, volunteers and those who share our posts!

Items needed for this meal:
2-3 large packs of boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 #10 (super large) cans of hominy (3 cans donated)
✅2 bags of white onions DONATED
✅7-8 big bunches of cilantro DONATED
✅3 bags of limes DONATED
3 heads of green cabbage
✅4-5 bags dried pinto beans DONATED
2 large bags of white rice
3 cases of bottled water
Desserts

If anyone has a contact at one of our local panaderias that might be willing to donate some conchas or other sweet Mexican treats please message us!

Want to bring a little extra good to your neighborhood, school, church, or workplace? Gather your people and turn a few extra groceries into a whole lot of help.

Friends, neighbors, classmates, or coworkers can work together to collect shelf-stable items, then bring them to the Lompoc Food Pantry. One person might bring a few cans. Ten people might fill a box. A whole neighborhood might fill a truck. ❤️

September is Hunger Action Month, so we're back with another question in the Pantry Education series: What causes food insecurity?

There are many reasons why someone may experience food insecurity.

For some households, it happens when the cost of groceries, housing, utilities, transportation, and other necessities rises faster than income. For others, an unexpected expense, job loss, reduced work hours, or a change in life circumstances can make it difficult to keep enough food on the table.

Often, it’s not just one challenge but several happening at once.

Food insecurity affects people from all walks of life, including working families, children, seniors, and individuals living on fixed or limited incomes.

Understanding the causes helps dispel the myth that hunger is simply about not having enough food. Food insecurity is a complex issue that affects our neighbors in many different ways.

That’s why community support matters. Every donation, whether it’s canned goods, a financial gift, or your volunteer time, helps provide food and hope to our Lompoc Valley neighbors. ❤️

Hi everyone! We are back to our normal scheduled monthly meal at the Bridgehouse Shelter this Sunday the 20th of September.
We will be serving pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad, Cole slaw with water bottles!
We are in need of the following donations:
1-2 pork loin
✅2-3 packs of hamburger buns -Donated
20lbs or so of red potatoes
✅2-3 bunches of celery-Donated
Bag of purple onions
✅3 jars of mayo-Donated
✅2dozen eggs-Donated
Lots of cabbage (either bagged or heads of cabbage)
✅3 cases of water-Donated
4-5 cans of sliced black olives
2-3 bottles of barbecue sauce
✅Any desserts are always appreciated -Donated

The Lompoc Food Pantry Catholic Charities will be closed Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day.

We will be serving our monthly meal this Sunday July 19th. We will be doing a Mexican themed meal. We are in need of the following items to prepare our meal for the residents of the Bridgehouse Shelter.

3 Cases of Water (Aprx 60-80 bottles)
3 large packs of corn tortillas
8 Large Cans Red Mild Enchilada sauce
3-4 bags shredded Mexican style cheese
1bag each purple and white onions
5-6 bags dried pinto beans
4-5 bags white rice
8 cans diced green chilies
4 bags of whole romaine lettuce
Bag of whole carrots
6 cucumbers
6-7 bell peppers any color

Hello! We will be serving and preparing our June meal at the Bridgehouse Shelter this Sunday June 21st. We need the following donations to complete our meal:
We will be making Orange chicken, Rice, salad and dessert
✅1 gallon orange juice
✅large bottle Soy Sauce
✅Fresh Ginger
✅Fresh Garlic
✅15 Bell Peppers (any color)
✅Bag Purple Onion5-6 bunches green onions
✅2 bottle rice w**e vinegar
✅3-4 Bags of Rice
✅4 bags of Romaine Lettuce
✅7-8 cucumbers
✅1-2 bags tomatoes
✅3 bags of Carrots
✅3 cases of water

We appreciate all of the donations and all of the volunteers that help make these meals possible to feed members of our community. We were blessed to serve 95 meals to our community!

Menu:
Chicken & beef fajitas, Spanish rice, refried beans, garden salad, fruit salad, assorted desserts, and water.
