Last night, we celebrated a milestone that means so much to the Lompoc Teen Center family.

Our very first graduating Yes I Can-Si Se Puede student, Caden Cerna-Medina, delivered the Graduate Address at the 2026 Chumash Graduation Ceremony, representing perseverance, leadership, culture, and the power of community support. We were especially honored to hear the Lompoc Teen Center recognized during the address.

The Lompoc Teen Center Executive Director and Vice President/Founder were grateful to attend the ceremony and represent the organization in support of this incredible achievement. Moments like this remind us why we do this work. Watching our students grow into confident leaders and advocates for themselves and their communities is the greatest reward.

Congratulations, Caden, and congratulations to all of the 2026 graduates. Your future is bright, and we cannot wait to see what comes next 🎓✨

Emily has made an incredible impact through her work with the Teen Center and College Corps, supporting and mentoring students in our Yes I Can-Si Se Puede program. Now, we invite the community to come together for a fun evening of creativity, connection, and celebration before she begins her next chapter.

For the past two years, the Lompoc Teen Center has proudly partnered with Allan Hancock College’s College Corps program to host dedicated Fellows who are making a lasting impact in the lives of local students 💙🧡

Our Fellows support the Yes I Can-Si Se Puede program by mentoring, tutoring, and encouraging at-risk students as they work toward academic success and college readiness. From one-on-one academic support to building meaningful relationships with teens, these Fellows have become an important part of our mission.

This year, we celebrate the incredible accomplishments of Emily Barrey and Samantha Chavoya as they complete their College Corps journey. Thank you for your compassion, leadership, and commitment to serving Lompoc youth. Your impact will continue far beyond the classroom.

“I’m running to…” 🏃💙

Our students showed up with purpose at the Lompoc Teen Center Jog-A-Thon, sharing the reasons behind every step they took. From creating opportunities for local students to helping more teens access a safe space to grow, learn, and belong, this event was about more than running. It was about investing in the future of our community.

This student-led fundraiser helped launch the Lompoc Teen Center Scholarship Fund, creating more access for students and families who need the Center most.

Students raised over $3,000, and the impact continues to grow thanks to our incredible community.

Last night at Cabrillo High School’s Senior Awards Night, we had the honor of recognizing an incredible student whose journey truly reflects the heart of the Lompoc Teen Center’s Yes I Can program.

Since joining the program as a sophomore, Caden has grown into one of our most consistent, engaged, and inspiring students. Through his leadership, encouragement, and commitment, he became a role model for younger students and showed what is possible when hard work meets opportunity.

We were proud to award Caden a $1,500 Yes I Can–Sí Se Puede Scholarship in recognition of his dedication, perseverance, and accomplishments.

Caden’s story is a reminder that the Lompoc Teen Center is more than a place for academic support and college and career readiness. It is a safe-space where students are empowered to grow, lead, and pursue their full potential.
