🎆 CAMP FIREWORK IS BACK 🎆

For the second year, the Lompoc Teen Center is partnering with the Firework Foundation to give Lompoc Valley students an unforgettable Camp Firework experience 💜🔥

Families of 6th–8th grade students are invited to join our virtual orientation session to learn more about Camp Firework, what students can expect, and how to participate.

Back-to-school season is here 🎒📚

Yesterday, the Lompoc Teen Center had the opportunity to join Lompoc Valley Middle School’s Back to School Night and welcome students and families into a new school year.

We loved meeting so many potential new members, connecting with families, and sharing everything waiting for teens at the Lompoc Teen Center—from academic support and enrichment opportunities to activities, excursions, and a community where they can learn, connect, and grow. 💙

Join us for LVCHO’s Walk with a Community Leader, a casual neighborhood walk designed to bring our community together through conversation, connection, and movement.

This month, walk alongside Victor Cortes, Executive Director of the Lompoc Teen Center, and learn more about local youth programs, community resources, and the work happening to support Lompoc’s young people and families.

Our Junior Lifeguards are kicking off the final week of an unforgettable two-week journey filled with growth, grit, and plenty of time in the ocean.

From building water confidence and learning lifesaving skills to strengthening teamwork, perseverance, and leadership, our students have embraced every challenge with determination and heart. Each day has pushed them to become stronger swimmers, more confident individuals, and supportive teammates.

As they head into the final stretch, we can’t wait to see them put everything they’ve learned into action and finish the program strong. We’re incredibly proud of how far they’ve come in just two short weeks.

Here’s to one last week of learning, laughter, and making memories that will last a lifetime 🌊🏄‍♂️💙☀️

Today, the Lompoc Teen Center welcomed an incredible group of international exchange students from Spain for a day of cultural exchange, conversation, and connection 🇺🇸🤝🇪🇸

For the second consecutive summer, we were honored to partner with Cultural Homestay International to bring together local teens and students from around the world. Throughout the day, students participated in team-building activities, shared stories about their cultures, compared life in Spain and the United States, practiced language skills, and built friendships that crossed borders.

Experiences like these encourage curiosity, empathy, confidence, and global awareness while reminding our students that the world is both bigger and smaller than they imagined.

Day two of the Santa Barbara County Junior Lifeguard program brought even more confidence, courage, and fun in the water!

Our Junior Lifeguards continued building their ocean safety skills through hands-on instruction, surf drills, and plenty of time in the waves. From practicing with rescue boards and body boards to learning from Santa Barbara County Lifeguards, every challenge helped our students become stronger swimmers, better teammates, and more confident around the ocean.

Beyond the skills, it’s incredible to watch new friendships form as students encourage one another, celebrate successes, and push themselves outside their comfort zones.

Thank you to the dedicated Santa Barbara County Junior Lifeguards staff for creating such an unforgettable experience and inspiring the next generation of ocean stewards.

Today, Lompoc Teen Center students kicked off their first day at the Santa Barbara County Junior Lifeguard Program, beginning two weeks of learning, teamwork, ocean safety, physical fitness, and confidence-building alongside youth from across Santa Barbara County.

This marks our second consecutive summer partnering with the Junior Lifeguard Program to provide Lompoc Valley students with access to an experience that many families might not otherwise have the opportunity to pursue. Through partnerships like these, we’re committed to ensuring our students can explore new environments, build lifelong skills, and discover career pathways they may have never imagined.

The impact of this partnership is already evident.

Last summer, one of our students was recognized by the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors as Junior Lifeguard of the Year, receiving an honorary resolution for their outstanding achievement. Today, that same student is employed locally as a lifeguard, using the skills, discipline, and confidence gained through this very program to serve our community.

We can’t wait to watch this year’s group grow over the next two weeks. Here’s to making memories, building resilience, and proving once again that opportunity changes lives.
