Local 700 mourns the tragic loss of one of our members, killed in a crash on I-294 at an Illinois Tollway work zone, where two additional workers were injured. We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and coworkers of our fallen brother and we pray for all those impacted.

This tragedy is a stark reminder of the dangers our members face every day. We urge all motorists to comply with the Move Over Law by slow downing and changing lanes near active work zones. Our members' lives depend on it.

A tollway maintenance worker was killed and two others injured on Interstate 294 in north suburban Des Plaines early Saturday morning.

The application for the 2026 Teamsters Scholarship Fund is now open!
High school seniors from the Class of 2026 who are the financial dependent of a Teamster in good standing are encouraged to apply for the scholarship by April 1, 2026. Scholarships are available for use toward a four-year college or university degree as well as training and vocational programs that are related to work in a Teamsters-represented industry, class, or craft.
