Kiwanis Club of Logansport

The Logansport Noon Kiwanis is service-oriented in our community & works to serve the children and youth of our community, the State of Indiana, and the world.

We are always looking for new members! If you are interested in joining a club that is dedicated to helping the youth and has a friendly atmosphere & fellowship then contact a member or join us for lunch any given Tuesday at 12:00 noon @ Westside Diner. Speaker for Logansport Kiwanis this week was Carlos Marroquin. The Ivy Tech Work Force Development Coordinator. It was great learning about all that Ivy Tech has to offer our community.

Kiwanis welcomed Destiny Ballinger from Bridges of Hope. She spoke on services available for anyone struggling with mental health and/or addiction issues.

Thank you to the Logansport/ Cass county community for your support of our Rose Day Sale. Shout out to Rose Day queens Jenny Sera and Becky Groff, to the Logansport Key Club and the Cass County Family YMCA for another successful event.

Tuesday Sept 22nd at Silverlake

Boys & Girls Club of Northern Indiana Corridor is an amazing program within our schools. Cass County, Fulton County, White County and Pulaski County are all included within this organization.

Our Kiwanis Club believes in the foundation of this program and wanted to help so we donated $2,500 to the organization

This is an after school kids program for several different age groups do your child can stay after and be involved in many activities.

Tuesday Sept 15th at Silverlake

Milt Hess is KING of our Kiwanis Flag Program.

This program started back in 1997 Internationally with Kiwanis and has since grown year over year. Milt took over the flag program back in 2015 when it needed organization and structure.

Our club puts out over 425 flags on 5 major holidays which includes; Memorial Day, July 4th, Flag Day, Veterans Day, & Sept 11th. The money goes towards our Scholarship Program where we award Highschool students with scholarships

We also had a few students from Key Club join us which is Aliah Morphet & Ayla Lewellen from LHS.

It’s been an honor this year as President of the Noon Kiwanis Club. This years term is almost over for me so I’m happy to share that as President of this years club, we were able to give back $5000 to one of my favorite organizations which is Reading Railroad with United Way. This was my 2026 Presidents Project.

I have been a volunteer with United Way for more than 15 plus years and I’m extremely proud to say that this is the only organization I have remained with as a steady volunteer. I believe in the organization and I see how our local United Way of Cass County gives back.

Tuesday August 25, 2026 at Silver Lake Family Restaurant & Lounge

Today we were able to hear from our Rose Queen Becky Groff regarding our upcoming Fundraiser Rose Day. The purpose is to fund youth initiatives in Cass County and this is a large Key Club Fundraiser as well. 2025 was a great success as we had 300 Dozen Roses paid for by Tyson Foods plus our Key Club members sold 217 Dozen and then between our Kiwanis Club and Walk-In sales the day of, we sold 190 Dozen.

This year details:
Thursday October 8th at the YMCA from 11:00am - 6:00pm. You can complete sales in person, the day of, or online using a QR Code.

We were also joined by 2 Key Club Members which is Brooklyn Hagerty & RJ Clem.

Tuesday August 18th at Silver Lake Family Restaurant & Lounge

We had several guest at our meeting last Tuesday including Gene to represent Shepler Construction. He talked to us about Lexington Village & how you can obtain a lot to build your dream home. Mike Anderson Ln is meant for larger family homes & Dingo Drive is meant for smaller square footage homes. Buyers can choose the lot they would like for their home to be built on which is an added bonus plus the lot is given to you from the City as well as power/water hook-ups. This could ultimately save you $20,000 - $30,000 when building a home. Buyers are limited to only 1 lot per ownership which means a buyer can not purchase 2 lots for 1 home. There is going to be a total of 52 homes built on Mike Anderson Ln and Dingo Drive when everything is done. They have currently built 10 homes. Every house is custom and different but can be built to the same footprint as another home. This is a great addition to Cass County and we are thrilled to see Lexington Village being developed.

We were also joined by Eric G who is a Logansport Graduate on his way to Purdue plus Panmei who is a graduate of Lewis Cass and on her way to Purdue. Good Luck to these students in all their future endeavors.

Tuesday August 11, 2026 at Silver Lake Family Restaurant & Lounge

Today was a special day for our Noon Kiwanis Club because we were able to official present Scholarship Checks to the following students. We were missing a few students from this picture that were not able to attend.

Jim Bauer, a longtime member of our club, has been apart of this Scholarship Program for many years. He is joined by a few other members who are on the Scholarship Committee to ensure that we are picking the qualified candidates to receive the scholarship money.

Our scholarship programs date back to 2003, when we presented three scholarships to high school seniors. We are very proud to be able to do this for our Community and we look forward to many more years of being able to present scholarships.
