We are sharing the very sad news that our project leaders, Jim and Mollie Miller, were in a rear-end collision yesterday in Winanac. The accident pushed their car into oncoming traffic which they narrowly escaped being hit again - Mollie is sore with bruises - no airbags deployed - just seatbelt straps that held them tight. The stress of the whole episode caused Jim to experience a cardiac episode that led to a heart attack or stroke. Despite heroic efforts by first responders on the scene and the ER staff at Pulaski Memorial, sadly, Jim didn’t make it. Our hearts go out to Mollie and her family and to the 4-H members who love them all so much.

Arrangements are pending at Fisher Funeral Chapel with visitation 4-7 pm Tuesday and funeral will be 10:30 am Wednesday.

You’ll find members of the Cass County 4-H Llama-Alpaca project selling a wonderful array of gloves, mittens, socks, boot inserts, shawls, beanies, scarves and Radar hats at the Burnettsville Comminity Center today. So buzz over to the friendliest little town in the world and finish up your Christmas shopping! Alpaca fiber is so soft, hypoallergenic and hollow so it insulates you without getting you sweaty or itchy!

You’ll find the Cass County Llama and Alpaca 4-Hers at the Roger’s Event Center among the boutiques today, November 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Alpaca fibers are hollow hypoallergenic and so very, very soft to the touch. Come check us out! We have socks, gloves, fingerless, pull back, mittens, beanies, radar, hats, scarfs, boots, inserts, and shawls that would make perfect Christmas gift gifts!

Thank you to ABC Mechanical and Cass County Animal Hospital for purchasing the Llama/Alpaca project’s basket of socks, a shawl, beanie cap and wrist warmers. They each chipped in $400 to benefit the project with the total donation being $800! Thank you to our buyers! We appreciate your support!

Happy 50th Anniversary to Jim & Mollie—two extraordinary souls who have built a life filled with love, laughter, and more farmyard friendships than we can count! Chickens clucking, goats leaping, calves growing, and llamas/alpacas leading the way—every creature in the barnyard celebrates the joy and dedication you share with all of us.

Your kindness, wisdom, and passion have shaped so many young hearts through 4-H, and the stories of your legacy will live on—perhaps even in a certain children's book one day! Here's to many more memories, laughter, and love that stretches far beyond the pasture. Wishing you a day as special as the life you’ve built together!
