I was asked yesterday if Crime Stoppers really was anonymous and how does it stay that way? Really easy. You send in a tip online via Facebook, email, website- that goes to me. One person. You tell me if you want to remain anonymous then the only information I pass along to law enforcement is the tip itself. I take pride in being honest and transparent with community members and building trust. If you call in on our PHONE tipline (1-866-901-0357), that will only show up as "crime stoppers tip line"..not with your name or phone #. If you choose to share that with the sheriff's dept at that time or a later date, that is at your discretion. The people in the dispatch office do not know who you are.

North Korean cyber group “WaterPlum” (aka “Contagious Interview”) is compromising job seekers’ computer networks, harvesting sensitive data, and stealing cryptocurrency. WaterPlum is targeting IT professionals in Japan, the United States, Europe, and beyond.

Posing as prospective employers, these actors go after software developers and IT professionals with fake “dream job” offers. They impersonate legitimate AI, NFT, and cryptocurrency companies and use recruiting platforms to reach victims.

(Council Bluffs) The Council Bluffs Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 35-year-old Michael Paul Ives, Jr. Mr. Ives does have ties to the Missouri Valley, IA area.

Mr. Ives was reported missing on December 2nd, 2023. However, he was last seen two to three weeks prior to the report. Council Bluffs Police are working with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation to apply as many resources as possible to locating Mr. Ives. Local authorities are urging the public to come forward with any new leads, reminding the community that someone out there may hold the missing piece to solving this case.

Mr. Ives is a white male, 6’ 1”, 220 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes.
