Josie (f), 8 yr old chocolate lab, 50lbs, is looking for a soft place to land. Josie was seized from a home where she had spent her days tied to a tree. She was given little to no food and water and became quite emaciated. She walks well on leash with minimal pulling and knows to releave herself outside.
Our hope for her is a quiet home, fenced yard, and kind adults who will keep her bowls full and give her the love she so deserves. If interested in opening your heart and home to this girl please complete our online application at www.heartofniagara.org and we will contact you for a home visit ❤️

HON had to say a sad "goodbye" today to one of our long time residents here at the rescue- Little Zeus (15 yr old, MinPin). Zeus came to us as a 4 yr old stray from Lewiston Animal Control. No one had reclaimed him.
We tried for years to find him a home, but with his marking issues, no one was willing to take on the challenge - so we did. For 11 yrs, we became his family. He will be remembered as a loving, happy boy, full of energy to spare. He was the much beloved friend of Hope (17 yrs) (Puggle who passed 1/2/26).
Unfortunately, he had been struggling, as of late, with rapidly failing health and neurological issues.
Our hope is that he and his friend (Hope) are now reunited running disease free, leash free, collar free- together forever.
Until we meet again...you are forever in our hearts, Sweet Zeusy
