WE HAVE A LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCY.
Our orphans must be moved immediately.
Militants who murdered the Christian children and their families 2 days ago in their church are heading in the direction of our orphanage. They are only a few miles away.
Our facility is NOT secure. We have found a secure place in the city where we can move 80 of them. The cost is $600/month + $50 to get the bus to move them.
We maxed out our bank account 2 weeks ago to plow and plant the new farm. (Thank you to those who helped us with this!)

We need help NOW.
This isn't a drill. It's real and it's an immediate, deadly danger.

HELLO!
An opportunity to lease 6 acres of land nearby the orphanage has come up! It’ll cost around $400 for the whole SEASON!
Will u help us? It must be done before May so we can get it plowed and planted.

This ONE (initial) planting will make us about 75% food self sustaining AND help create income for the other needs. (Like, the shelter is too small and we have to send most of the kids back out into the streets every night!

THIS IS AN EMERGENCY POST:
Bunia has been invaded and is now under attack by Ugandan troops.
Our orphanage is in Bunia and is surrounded on all sides by Ugandan military. They are closing in. There is NO escape.
The troops are shooting anyone they see in the streets.

Although adults have shelter, the street orphans do not have shelter. They are in deadly danger.

Because of this, UFCS has had a huge influx of children coming to us for safety these past few days. Some are gravely injured. One child's legs were run over by a military truck. We are caring for him as best we can. There are others who are also injured. I don't want to go into grisly details. My heart doesn't want to look too close.

Our need isn't urgent. It's an EMERGENCY. Some of our adult workers haven't been able to come in because of the danger of traveling the streets and their need to be with their families. So, our onsite staff is small. Because of the lack of food and staff, we've been forced to close the gates and turn the children away!

Please keep reading so you can better understand how this type of thing progresses.

The window of opportunity to get food, medical supplies and money closes quickly in these types of situations. And the danger of traveling to get needed supplies exponentially increases in the space of HOURS. So, we need to get what we need NOW.

I am BEGGING you: please help. Now. Don't wait until tomorrow.

Don't wait until tomorrow or tonight. I plan to send as much as possible tonight or tomorrow. (There's a 6 hour time difference. So, the quicker we can get money in the bank, the faster it gets there. I fear that the banks and food markets are going to close before we can get what's needed to keep these kids from starving.)
