Please join us in offering condolences to the family and friends of Joe Phelps, who passed away on Sept. 16, 2026. Here he is with his wife Jeannie.

Joe's observations over his years in the marketing industry led him to see how the public can be easily swayed by the media. This led to Joe forming the Getting Better Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization with the objective of “building trust through the truth about the positive evolution of human behavior.”

He also produced a documentary called Trust Me that won the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism, the UNESCO Award for Media Literacy in North America, and many other awards.

📽️Catch a free screening of Trust Me this Thursday (Nov. 5) at 7 p.m. at the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts.

Joe was a remarkable philanthropist with a generous heart who broadly supported causes throughout Park County. PCCF's board and staff are grateful for his partnership in helping establish and grow the GIVE A HOOT Matching Pool as an effective tool for inspiring support for local nonprofits. He will be missed.

We had fun Friday night! No big deal, just a couple of great artists and their supporters showing up to talk about their work in our most recent display. On view through this coming Saturday the 17th.

One thing that happened was a demonstration put on by Javier Moreno Artist Javier Moreno and a impromptu raffle. The winning ticket was purchased by Talbott A. and she was very pleased to have a fresh painting that she watched being created. What could better than that?
