Step back in time to an era when receiving a postcard through the mail was special. Whether it was to inform, share the news of the day, or to send a love note, today, these collectibles have become an important part of our history. They are sought out by collectors not just for their glimpses into everyday life, but also for the interesting and colorful images printed on them. The book also includes the history of each post office in the Lititz area.

Over 200 pages boasting over 500 images (over 375 in color!).
Coverage area is Lititz borough, Warwick, and Elizabeth townships.

Recognize this house? While there has been some slight structural changes through the years, this building still stands today at 131 East Main Street - just a few doors down from the Lititz Historical Foundation!

Shown here is the Knotty Pine Smoke Shop—owned by G.H. Pennypacker and once located at 15 East Main Street, Lititz. The structure was eventually torn down to make way for a drive thru lane at the bank next door.

Our October hike will be a "spirited" one!

For this month's trek through town - THIS THURSDAY AT 8 AM - we'll be joined by a very special guest from the Lititz Historical Foundation. Our guide will let us in on some Lititz lore, telling us about spirits from the days of yore. Start your morning with us and the spirits of Lititz!

Our urban hikes are always free and open to everyone.
Meet us at 8 am in front of Earth to Lititz.
This walk will be a bit shorter in distance, with more stops to hear stories.

Employees are shown here twisting pretzels inside Kissinger Pretzel Bakery, once located in an alley behind 127 East Main street many years ago. In those days, each pretzel had to be twisted by hand before being baking.

On display that evening will be an authentic 1691 arrest warrant from Salem, Massachusetts signed eight weeks before the famous witch trials by judges John Hathorne and Jonathan Corwin. The document also bears the signature of George Herrick, who was the "Marshal" for the court of Oyer and Terminer during the trials.
