What a morning!

Our teams came in 1st and 3rd in the relay triathlon!

We are incredibly grateful for the two relay triathlon teams who took on the challenge of swimming, biking, and running — not just for the finish line, but to make a difference for our work! Their dedication turned meters and miles into meaningful impact. Together, they raised just over $10,000, helping support our work and the people and communities that we serve.

But the impact went far beyond the funds raised. Every meter and mile, every conversation, every share, and every person who learned about Medan Initiative helped shine a light on our mission. These athletes gave us something just as valuable as their fundraising efforts — greater awareness of the work we do and the difference your support can make.

We are so thankful for these incredible teams for using their passion and determination to amplify our mission. 💙

One week to go!

Our incredible triathlon teams are putting in the final meters and miles before race day, pushing themselves to raise funds that will help us make an even greater impact.

We are $925 away from our $6,000 goal!

We now have 2 teams competing in the Lititz Recenter Triathlon to support our nutrition program at RAEY School!

$6,000 will provide 2 meals per day for all 340 students for 3 months. We are currently at $4,500 raised!

Race day is August 9!

When this beautiful girl came through our clinic in March, a concerning heart murmur was noted on exam. She has since received a full cardiac work up and we are working on getting her scheduled for surgery through our partnership with The Cardiac Center of Addis. This is imperative to prevent long-term complications.

This is why we do what we do.

$3,550 out of their $6,000 goal raised! We are down to about a month. Race day is August 9!

These guys have raised $2,525 so far —almost halfway to their goal!

Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Your generosity will help bridge the gap created by inflation and allow us to continue serving the students two meals per day at RAEY School.

We are incredibly grateful for two extraordinary members of our team working on the ground in Ethiopia — Ayinalem, our school nurse, and Dr. Simret, our care coordinator.

Ayinalem has been serving alongside us for several years now, providing compassionate care and unwavering support to the students at RAEY School. Her commitment to the health and well-being of these kids has made a lasting impact on countless lives.

Dr. Simret first joined our work when she served as a translator for our 2026 team. During that week, it became clear that her passion, leadership, and dedication extended for beyond translation. Following the trip, we invited her to join our team year-round as our care coordinator, and she has quickly become an invaluable part of our mission.

Because of the work of these two, we were able to launch an important new initiative today — the distribution of Albendazole to every student at RAEY School. This preventative treatment (which will occur every six months) will help protect students from parasitic infections, which can negatively affect growth, nutrition, and overall health, while also causing many of the gastrointestinal symptoms our medical teams frequently address. This initiative represents more than a single day of treatment — it reflects our commitment to building sustainable, year-round programs that improve children’s health and create opportunities for them to thrive.

We are continually reminded of God’s provision for people like Ayinalem and Dr. Simret. They make it possible for us to carry out this work and increase our impact.
