The Missouri Emergency Medical Services Association (MEMSA) is Missouri’s statewide nonprofit EMS association supporting the EMS industry, individual EMS professionals and agencies. We’re here to create collective power behind your voice, the individual EMS professional, and to represent that voice on all levels - regional, state and national. Missouri EMS professionals across the state participate as MEMSA members in legislative and lobbying issues, important industry information with your fellow 17,000 Missouri EMS professionals, entertaining events to earn CEUs, shared experience and networking, and more.

Starting next month, an FRPN clinician will lead virtual group sessions to help the spouses of first responders with the challenges they face in supporting us.

🏆 2026 Frank Mitchell Memorial Award: Physician of the Year – Dr. Melissa Kroll

The Missouri EMS Association held its annual awards ceremony in conjunction with the 2026 Missouri EMS Conference & Expo in Branson on Wednesday, August 12.

MEMSA is proud to recognize Dr. Melissa Kroll as the recipient of the 2026 Frank Mitchell Memorial Award – Physician!

Physician involvement is an important part of a strong EMS system. Through medical direction, education, clinical leadership and advocacy, physicians help EMS professionals continually improve the care they provide in communities across Missouri.

The Frank Mitchell Memorial Award is presented to an MD or DO who has contributed most significantly to EMS at the local and/or state level.

🏆 2026 MEMSA Telecommunicator of the Year – Kasey Conn

The Missouri EMS Association held its annual awards ceremony in conjunction with the 2026 Missouri EMS Conference & Expo in Branson on Wednesday, August 12.

MEMSA is proud to recognize Kasey Conn as the 2026 Telecommunicator of the Year!

Long before an ambulance arrives, a telecommunicator is often the first link in the emergency response system. They answer the call, gather critical information, coordinate resources and support responders while helping callers through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

This award recognizes a dispatcher or communications specialist who has performed above the ordinary in supporting emergency personnel and the citizens they serve.

MEMSA is proud to recognize Mary Beth Burkhart as the recipient of the 2026 Jack Lyon Memorial Award – Instructor / Coordinator!

Every great EMS professional can point to educators who helped shape their career. EMS instructors do much more than teach skills from a textbook—they challenge students, build confidence, reinforce professionalism, and help prepare providers to make critical decisions when patients are depending on them.

The Jack Lyon Memorial Award recognizes an outstanding instructor of an EMS education or continuing education program accredited by the Missouri Bureau of EMS.
