We are so excited to launch our EAL program this session! Equine Assisted Learning with "mini's" leverages their small size to make powerful emotional and educational connections.
Our new friends “Rosy” and “Skye” will be helping us launch at the end of this month!!!
EAL is primarily ground-based interaction to build confidence and social-emotional skills.
Key aspects:
- Trauma focus: learn appropriate boundaries, safe risk taking, emotion management, self esteem and a sense of empowerment.
- Grooming and connection: teaches responsibility, nurturing, and fine motor skills
- Leading and obstacles: clients guide minis through patterns and obstacles to practice leadership, non-verbal communication, spatial awareness, and trust.
- "Little bitty” literacy: children read aloud to minis in a non-judgmental space to help improve reading fluency and confidence.
- Emotional Mirroring: like larger horses, minis reflect a person's emotions in real time, helping participants learn self regulation.
