Today, SGE PTA treated our teacher & staff PTA members to a refreshing Sonic drink as a little thank-you for supporting our PTA and everything we do for our school community. 🥤✨

September is packed with fun at SGE! 🦉💚 From HootEats and Picture Day to Run Club, Cookies with Grands, Dot Day, Open Nest, and more, there are so many ways for our Owls and families to connect and get involved this month! 🧡💙

🎉 And one of our biggest events of the year is about to begin! Hoot ’n Hustle kicks off September 16! This is SGE PTA’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and all the fun and fundraising leads up to our school-wide COLOR RUN on September 30! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🌈 We can’t wait to share more details soon!

💛🎗️ September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! 🎗️💛

SGE is going GOLD all month long as we join the fight against childhood cancer and participate in Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s Million Mile! 🍋👟

💛 Every Wednesday is a GOLD OUT!
Students are encouraged to wear gold or their GISD Goes Gold shirt.

🏃 SGE Million Mile Run Days
During PE, students will run to help us log miles and raise awareness for childhood cancer!

🦉 Wednesday, September 2 & 9: Horned & Snow Owls
🦉 Wednesday, September 16 & 23: Barn & Elf Owls

🍋 Students can also help support the cause on run days:
🥤 Bring $1 for lemonade
🧊 Take the Ice Bucket Challenge for $10
💛 Families can sponsor an entire class for $20 using the donation link provided by Coach Schulz in ParentSquare.

📚🦉 Parent Orientation Night is coming up!

Parents and guardians are invited to visit their child’s classroom, connect with their teacher, and learn more about classroom expectations and curriculum for the year.

📅 Thursday, September 3
⏰ Two Sessions:
🍎 5:00–5:30 PM
🍎 5:30–6:00 PM

Choose the session that works best for your family! Families with multiple children can use the two session times to visit more than one classroom.

This evening is designed for parents/guardians, so adults-only attendance is encouraged when possible; however, children are welcome to accompany you.

We look forward to welcoming you into the classroom and helping you get a great look at the year ahead! 💚💙🧡
