As Fisher River Valley Fire/Rescue celebrates its 40th Anniversary, we had the honor and privilege of giving a tour to a couple of the original volunteer members, Mona Drake and Barb Hoeltzel. Barb and Mona reminisced about old times and fundraisers that it took to get the original Fisher River Volunteer Fire Company off the ground. The fire company was established in 1986 after the 11,000 acre Houghton Creek Fire swept through the area, burning homes and outbuildings. Thank you Barb and Mona for your dedication to our community.

Beginning the Memorial Weekend and ending National EMS Week, Fisher River Valley Fire/Rescue starts it off with a medical call at Logan State Park. A patient was airlifted by ALERT. Huge thank you goes out to both Fisher River Valley responders and to ALERT crew! They all make our community a better place!!

Fisher River Valley Fire/Rescue responds to assist Marion Fire with a structure fire near McGregor Lake. Fisher River and Marion have an automatic aid agreement to assist each other when a structure fire occurs. Fisher River also has an automatic aid agreement with Libby VFD when a structure fire occurs in the Fisher River response area. These agreements provide the best response possible for our community.
