Hope Center

Hope Center HOPE STARTS HERE. The Hope Center is Lexington’s leading resource for recovery, shelter, housing, and support. That’s true, but it’s so much more.

We serve those facing addiction, homelessness, and crisis with dignity and hope. Since 1993, the Hope Center’s mission has been to care for those experiencing homelessness, substance use disorder, and mental illness by providing life-sustaining and life-rebuilding services that are comprehensive and address underlying causes. The Hope Center is widely known as a homeless shelter. It’s not enough t

o only provide the homeless in our community with a place to get off the street; we must also provide them with the tools they need to stay off the street. The root causes of homelessness vary widely. That is why our programs are so important. Each person who enters our doors is valuable and unique. Our goal is to provide each one with the tools they need to rebuild their lives.

Kind of chic to support your local nonprofit. ✨

Giving your time. Donating what you can. Showing up for a volunteer day. Supporting a drive. Sharing your expertise. Hiring someone who deserves another chance. Simply telling someone else about the work happening in your community.

There are so many ways to make a difference at The Hope Center, and every one of them helps us continue providing shelter, recovery, housing, outreach, and support to individuals and families working toward brighter futures.

Caring about your community will always be in style.

One act of kindness can create a ripple.

Sometimes, it starts with something small: A volunteer serves a meal. A donor gives a winter coat. A business offers someone a job. A community member teaches a life skills class.

What may feel like a simple act of kindness can become the beginning of something much bigger.

That meal becomes a conversation -> The conversation becomes trust -> Trust becomes recovery -> Recovery leads to stable housing -> Housing creates opportunities for employment, independence, and a brighter future

At The Hope Center, we see this ripple effect every day. Lives are transformed because people in our community choose to show up, give generously, and believe in second chances.

Your actions have the power to create lasting impact.

💙 Be part of the ripple. Whether you volunteer, donate, share your expertise, or advocate for our mission, you're helping create pathways to hope, healing, and stability.

Hope is more than a feeling. It's people showing up for people.

Every act of service, every helping hand, and every moment given helps create dignity, comfort, and support for our neighbors.

When our community comes together, hope becomes something people can feel, see, and experience.

💙 This is hope in action.

Long-term support means more than meeting someone’s immediate need.

It means walking alongside them as they take the next step toward healing, recovery, housing, employment, stability, and hope.

For many people who come to The Hope Center, the first step may be a warm meal, a safe place to sleep, or someone willing to listen. The journey continues from there.

Real change takes time, compassion, community, and people who keep believing in what’s possible.

💙 Hope is not just for today. It’s for tomorrow, too.

Sometimes hope looks like a clean space, a fresh start, and people willing to show up.

Volunteers help make The Hope Center a safer, more welcoming place for our neighbors. Every room cleaned, every task completed, and every moment given helps bring dignity, comfort, and care to someone taking their next step forward.

It may seem simple, but service like this matters.

💙 This is hope. This is community. This is what it means to show up for others. Sign up to volunteer today at hopectr.org.

When people hear "The Hope Center," they often think of a homeless shelter.

While emergency shelter is an important part of our mission, it's only one piece of what we do.

Every day, we provide emergency shelter, addiction recovery, mental health services, housing, veterans services, street outreach, employment support, meals, medical care, and educational opportunities through One Parent Scholar House.

Each program is designed to work together, helping individuals and families move from crisis to stability, healing, and long-term independence.

Because our mission has never been simply to meet immediate needs. Our mission is to help people rebuild their lives.

Whether you're seeking help, looking for a meaningful way to volunteer, or hoping to support our work, we're glad you're here.
