A new feature at this year’s Lexington Pride Festival was a collection of 50 yard signs celebration Kentucky’s LGBTQIA+ history! These signs were created in collaboration with Faulkner Morgan Archive and funded through a grant from JustFundKY. The yard signs celebrate the history of LGBTQIA+ Kentuckians - from the Cinema Sisters Film Festival in Paducah to Henrietta Bingham in Louisville to Sweet Evening Breeze in Lexington to Club Riviera in Newport to the Tri-State Gay Rodeo Association and more!
These history yard signs also send an important message: LGBTQIA+ Kentuckians have been a part of Kentucky since the very beginning. Our q***r history is Kentucky history.
