🌟 Our CIS Students Have Been BUSY! 🌟

From giving back to our community through volunteering ❤️ to exploring their futures through college tours 🎓, our students have been on the move!

We love seeing our students step outside the classroom, experience new opportunities, develop leadership skills, and discover all the possibilities waiting for them!

At Communities In Schools of Lexington/Davidson County, we believe that learning goes far beyond the classroom. Every volunteer opportunity, every college visit, and every new experience helps our students build confidence, dream bigger, and prepare for a successful future! 💙

We are SO proud of our students for showing up, giving back, and taking steps toward their goals!

This is what being looks like! 💙

🎓 SENIOR YEAR + COLLEGE TOUR SEASON = LET’S GO! 🎓

Our seniors officially kicked off college tour and college prep season with their FIRST campus visit of the year to Wake Forest University! 🙌

There’s something special about stepping onto a college campus and beginning to picture what life after high school could look like. For our seniors, these visits are about more than touring classrooms and dorms—they’re about exploring possibilities, asking questions, discovering opportunities, and realizing that their next chapter is within reach.

And this is just the beginning! Over the coming months, our CIS team will be right beside our seniors as they navigate college applications, scholarships, financial aid, career planning, and all the BIG decisions that come with senior year.

We’ve watched these students work hard to get to this point, and now we get to help them take those next steps toward their futures. 🎓✨

First college tour of the year: CHECK! ✅
Next chapter: LOADING! 💙

We are because we know —all the way to graduation and beyond!

☕🎓 Starbucks + College Applications = A Night Well Spent!

Last night, some of our students traded a little of their free time for a BIG step toward their futures!

With Starbucks in hand, our seniors spent the evening working on college applications, preparing for what comes next, asking questions, and making plans for life after high school. 💻📚

This is what being looks like. Sometimes student support happens during the school day—and sometimes it means showing up after hours with coffee, encouragement, and someone beside you saying, “You’ve got this!” ❤️

We are so proud of our students for putting in the work and taking these important steps toward their goals.

Because at Communities In Schools of Lexington/Davidson County, we know that —especially during the moments that can shape a student's future.

☕ + 🎓 + ❤️ = Building brighter futures, one application at a time!

🌟 HAPPY STUDENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST WEEK! 🌟

This week, we are celebrating the incredible Student Support Specialists of Communities In Schools of Lexington/Davidson County! 💙

Our Student Support Specialists are the heart of what we do. Every day, they show up for students—building relationships, removing barriers, connecting families to resources, celebrating successes, and being a trusted adult when a student needs one most.

Their work goes far beyond the school day. They are mentors, advocates, problem-solvers, cheerleaders, and sometimes simply the person who says, “I’m here, and I believe in you.”

Because of their dedication, students know they don't have to navigate challenges alone. They have someone in their corner helping them stay focused, stay connected, and keep moving toward graduation and a successful future. 🎓

To our amazing Student Support Specialists:
(Mrs. Bostick & Mrs. Smith)
THANK YOU for showing up, standing beside our students, and being ALL IN every single day! We appreciate you more than you know! 💙❤️

Because at CIS, we know...

✨

Our work doesn’t stop when the school day ends—and it certainly doesn’t stop on the weekends. 💙

Empowering our youth means meeting them WHERE they are and WHEN they need us.

Sometimes that means being there for a family facing an emergency. Other times, it looks like what you see pictured here—our Student Support Specialist, Mrs. Bostick, giving up part of a Saturday to work with our seniors as they prepare for college and their next chapter! 🎓✨

Because supporting students is about so much more than what happens during school hours. It’s about showing up, building relationships, removing barriers, and making sure our students know they have someone in their corner.

We are ALWAYS because we know —every day, every hour, every step of the way. 💙

What an incredible day! We are so thankful to everyone who came out to Big Toy Day and spent the day with us. Seeing so many families, smiling faces, and excited kids exploring all of the BIG toys is exactly what makes this event so special year after year. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to our sponsors, community partners, volunteers, Board of Directors, vendors, pilots, first responders, businesses, and everyone who brought out a BIG toy for our kids to explore. An event like this truly takes a community, and we couldn't do it without each of you!
