We are so excited to share about a wonderful local crafter who is selling beautiful handmade flowers and donating the profits to Smart Start of Davidson County’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library! 📚❤️

What a beautiful way to brighten someone’s day while helping put books into the hands of local children! Every purchase helps support our efforts to provide children in Davidson County with the gift of reading from birth through age five.

Smart Start of Davidson County joins families and communities across the country in mourning the loss of Dolly Parton, a beloved champion of children, literacy, and opportunity.

Through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Dolly helped make the joy of reading accessible to children from birth through age five, inspiring a lifelong love of books and learning. Her generosity and vision have made a lasting difference in the lives of countless children and families in Davidson County and beyond.

We are honored to continue carrying forward her legacy by helping local children receive a free, high-quality book every month through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

🚜✈️ BIG TOY DAY IS THIS SATURDAY! 🚒🚁

Bring the whole family out for one of our favorite annual community events — Big Toy Day! For more than 15 years, this event has given children and families the chance to get up close, explore, and enjoy all kinds of BIG toys and BIG vehicles!

📍 Davidson County Executive Airport
1673 Aviation Way, Lexington, NC

There will be big vehicles, food, music, inflatables, and plenty of hands-on family fun! Plus, FREE flights will be available for ages 8–17, with registration taking place the day of the event. ✈️

• Everyone Else — $5

Big Toy Day is all about fun, exploration, and bringing our community together. A huge thank you to the community partners who help make this special day possible year after year!
