We would like to say thank you to all who braved the weather and came out to our Fall of Fame! Also a huge thank you to Holly Grove Lutheran Church and all of the volunteers who assisted - we couldn’t hold events without all of your help! Just a reminder we still have raffle tickets for sale until November 12, so please email [email protected] or by reaching out to a member of the Sports Management Team if interested in purchasing. They are $5 each or 3 for $10.

We concluded the event with our Hall of Fame 2026 celebration and dinner provided by Holly Grove Lutheran Church. We celebrated two very special athletes who have each participated for 30 years! The first is Matthew Kinney who participates in basketball and softball. The second Matthew Hedrick who participates in bowling and bocce. Give them each a round of applause!

We were also honored to award the SODC Jack DeHart Volunteer Award to Davidson County School staff for all of their years of dedication to the SODC program. The SODC Outstanding Family award was granted to the Wilkerson family - we’re so thankful for all that Stephanie, Lori, and Robert do for SODC and SONC.

📣📣Don't forget - we need every athlete to make sure to complete the Athlete Registration. It can be found at https://portals.specialolympics.org

All Young Athletes' Day participants must have theirs completed by this Thursday, Sept 24th. All other athletes must have theirs done no later than November 1st. Without this, athletes will not be able to compete in spring games.

If you need assistance with registration, we will have someone available to assist if you come out to our Fall of Fame on Saturday, Oct 3rd.

Please make plans to join us on Saturday, October 3 from 3-6pm at Holly Grove Lutheran Church located at 212 Holly Grove Lutheran Church Rd, Lexington for our Fall of Fame. We will have an open house with a fall sports festival, silent auction/raffle, and will conclude with our Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. We will also be giving away tshirts to our athletes while supplies last.
