In this romantic political comedy, Kentucky history reenactors regroup at their home theater following the funeral of their director. As they debate whether to cancel the production of their play celebrating the Sestercentennial, a Hollywood superstar stops by to see the theater where she performed in her youth. Among the crew members, she encounters an old flame who she ditched after she became famous. The cast drafts him to be their new director, and she decides to join the production. Relationships are rekindled as their play goes off the rails.

This will be a staged reading, but we are going to have some fun with it. This will not be a group of actors sitting in a semi-circle reading a play.

Coming this September, we are thrilled to bring you ALEXANDRIA by Vince Gatton, directed by Bo List.

But first... we're auditioning for two roles in this upcoming production!

📅 Auditions: July 1, 2026
⏰ Time: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

This will be an open audition, so there's no need to prepare a monologue or bring any materials. Sides will be provided at the audition.

Character descriptions can be found below.

OL’ MO, - Black, no one knows how old exactly, but old. The library equivalent of a barfly, he’s always around, always carrying a violin case. An antisocial loner, he’s full of opinions he keeps to himself. (could be late 30s, capable of playing older)

MONTÉ, -teen boy, Black. Uninterested in and incapable of gender-conforming, he has pink nails, a regal demeanor, and the cuts, bruises, and scars that come with both. Determined, smart, and intuitive, he holds onto his self-worth like a treasure and a weapon. He’s from a place even smaller than here. (at least 15, and could be 20s capable of playing younger)
