Auditions for Shakespeare in the Park are right around the corner.
This year we are bringing MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, directed by Drew Davidson
The show will go up on July 10th and run through July 19th.
This is a paid gig!

You do not need to prepare anything for this audition but if you have a good Shakespearean monologue in your arsenal, bring it!

A small reminder on KY Gives Day about the difference your donation can make.
Big arts organizations spend over half their budgets on overhead and salaries, meaning more than 50 cents of every dollar may never actually go toward making art, paying artists, or creating opportunities for the community. And in Lexington, these organizations are actively competing against artists for donations. They are collecting your money and spending it on their own initiatives, rather than distributing it to the organizations who are struggling and have worked so hard to earn it.

If you love theater, donate directly to theater. If you care about local music, support musicians. If youth arts programs matter to you, give to organizations actually putting kids in classes and on stages.

Please be specific with your giving. Ask questions. Look at where the money goes. Thoughtful donations can directly fund artists, rehearsals, costumes, workshops, instruments, sets, and real experiences for real people.

If you can be specific about supporting the art you want to see exist, it will go much further for that organization directly.

So, if it's not too late - do a little bit of research today before you throw your money somewhere that the arts in your community will never feel it. It doesn't have to be us, but we are certainly grateful when it is!
