In service of domestic animals in South Carolina, Frisky Business Rescue is a no-kill rescue that provides vital resources such as veterinary care, birthing assistance, medication, and rehoming or safe release (TNR) to the most vulnerable animals in the region. We specialize in animals with special circumstances that come from various backgrounds, including animal hoarding and abusive situations b

ut primarily focus on vulnerable kittens, puppies, and pregnant/nursing dogs and cats. Before rehoming, we carefully screen new potential families to ensure the needs of our animals are met and that new homes will become furever homes.

🤍🐾 Meet Patrick – 100 Pounds of PURE Pyrenees Personality! 🐾🤍

🐕 Breed: Great Pyrenees Mix – pretty sure Great Pyrenees x Anatolian Shepherd, although he has VERY strong Pyrenees personality!
⚖️ ~100 lbs
♂️ Male

🩺 Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Neutered, UTD on Rabies, DHPP & Bordetella, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative, and UTD on prevention.

🐶🐱👧 Good with dogs, cats & kids: Great with all of the above, with one important caveat regarding food.

⚠️ Patrick is very food protective around other dogs and can get grumbly about it. The only significant reactivity we've seen was with the large dog he arrived with (presumed to be his brother), and even then, no injuries occurred. This has primarily been an issue with larger dogs, particularly those over ~70 lbs. It's very manageable with separate feeding and appropriate space.

🏡 House/crate trained: YES! He will even wake me up at night when he needs to go outside. He marked twice when he first arrived but hasn't had an issue since. He also did wonderfully at my workplace once his hormones had settled more after neutering. He's comfortable in a crate, although he may guard a treat if another large dog walks past.

🏡 Reason for rehoming: Patrick was found as a stray and picked up by Animal Control. No owner came forward, and we were asked to pull him because the shelter was severely overcrowded. ❤️

He has gotten loose off leash and stayed nearby rather than taking off, but we wouldn't recommend testing a Pyrenees' recall too much. They are notorious roamers! 😉

And when Patrick decides it's cuddle time, his ~100 lbs suddenly become YOUR problem because he'd like to use you as a pillow—or let you use him as one. 😂❤️

Patrick is an incredibly sweet, well-mannered giant who would make an amazing companion for the right home. ❤️

🐕 Breed: Chipoo – best guess! *(Chihuahua/Poodle mix)*
⚖️ Currently 3 lbs; projected ~11–14 lbs full grown

🩺 Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Spayed; 2 rounds of DHPP, 1 round of Lepto & Bordetella; microchipped, dewormed, and UTD on heartworm & flea prevention.

🐶🐱👧 Good with dogs, cats & kids: Good with all of the above, but she definitely has opinions! 😂 She gets easily annoyed with other dogs/cats and likes her alone time. Outside, she plays VERY rough with other animals; inside, she mostly does her own thing.

⚕️ Aggression or medical issues?: None known, BUT Glenn CoCo is currently a CHEWER. 😬 She will chew on humans and other animals, and she's right in the middle of full teething, so we're hopeful this improves as she gets through this stage. Appropriate supervision and redirection will be important.

🏡 Reason for rehoming?: Glenn CoCo was found as a stray and pulled from Animal Control due to severe overcrowding. She was also considered high-risk simply because she was such a tiny puppy in a shelter environment. ❤️

🏠 House/crate trained: Does great in both a kennel and crate! House training is still in progress, but she's doing much better with p*e pads and typically goes potty immediately when taken outside.

Glenn CoCo may genuinely be TWO different dogs depending on whether she's inside or outside. 😂

⚖️ 12 lbs, although he looks MUCH bigger than your typical 12-lb dog! 😂
♂️ Male

🩺 Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Neutered, UTD on Rabies, DHPP & Bordetella, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative, and UTD on flea & heartworm prevention.

🐶🐱👧 Good with dogs, cats & kids: Ozzy has done well with everyone he's been introduced to when they approach him appropriately. He does best when he is allowed to approach people first rather than having someone immediately reach for him.

⚠️ Important behavior information: Ozzy came from Animal Control labeled “HIGH RISK – WILL BITE.” When we first met him, he rushed toward the person entering his space, barking and snapping, but made no contact. Within just a few minutes of being given space, he was allowing pets. Shortly afterward, he was licking us and seeking attention.

He has shown no general reactivity with me, but grooming is a VERY different story. His feet are a major trigger, and he will need a groomer who is experienced with handling dogs that have grooming sensitivities. He currently requires precautions for foot handling.

He also has significant food guarding around other animals, especially when it comes to human food. He will give repeated warning nips if another animal approaches while food is present. Because of this, he is fed separately in his crate and will need continued management around food.

🏡 House/crate trained: Yes! He barks to let you know when he needs to go outside. He does need to be taken out immediately after coming out of his crate or he may have an accident, and he generally needs his person to accompany him outside to actually potty.

He is crate trained, but has VERY high-pitched opinions about being crated while his humans are nearby and ignoring his demands to come out. 😂

Does Ozzy have an attitude? Absolutely. 😂 But underneath the quirks is a dog who has shown us an enormous capacity for affection once he trusts you.

✂️ He WILL need regular professional grooming. His before/after photos show just how much coat maintenance he requires. We're also continuing to work on his feet slowly because that's his biggest grooming trigger.

Ozzy is NOT a dog for everyone, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. He needs someone experienced, patient, willing to manage his quirks, and committed to respecting his boundaries. But for the right person, this little guy has the potential to be an incredibly loyal and loving companion. ❤️

🏡 Reason for rehoming?: Crayola and her littermates were pulled from Animal Control after being found as strays, giving them the chance to grow up safely in foster care while they search for forever homes. ❤️

Crayola has come SUCH a long way! 🥹

Her entire litter started out very shy, but Crayola has now become the FRIENDLIEST of her siblings and is finally showing us just how sweet she really is.

⚕️ Aggression or medical issues?: None known. Bonnie is simply a very petite little girl. Her mom was only 5.5 lbs herself, so we expect Bonnie to remain on the smaller side as she grows.

🏡 Reason for rehoming: Bonnie's mom came into rescue already pregnant and gave birth before her scheduled spay. Bonnie was the only survivor of her litter. After most of the kittens unexpectedly passed away despite continuing to grow and showing no obvious signs of illness, mom lost interest in caring for the remaining kittens. Bonnie became a bottle baby, and thankfully, she made it. ❤️

And don't let her pictures fool you; she is MUCH fluffier than she looks! Her longer/fluffy coat is still very thin at this age, so we expect her floof factor to become much more obvious as she grows. ☁️🐱
