Gravatt is located on 270 pine-covered acres in Aiken County with meeting and overnight facilities, a summer youth camp, a challenge course for team building, and environmental education programs.

NEW YEAR’S CAMP REGISTRATION IS OPEN! 🪩🎆🎉🕺🏼✨

Current 6th-10th graders, ring in 2027 at Gravatt from December 29-January 2 at New Year’s Camp!

New Year’s Camp is held in our Conference Center facilities, which includes hotel-like lodging with heat. Campers will get to experience everything they love about Gravatt along with programming, food, and activities that are unique to New Year’s Camp! 🎇⛺️

If your camper is interested in New Year’s Camp, all you have to do is sign in to your Campwise account and register. We have limited capacity, so we suggest signing up early! ⏰

Gravatt remains committed to keeping summer camp affordable while responsibly stewarding our programs, facilities, and nearly 300-acre property, and we are excited to launch The Pine Society! 🌲

This initiative will help us build stronger relationships with supporters, improve our ability to respond to unexpected challenges, and strengthen Gravatt for future generations.

In his annual end-of-summer letter to the staff, Fletch wrote:

“Being on staff is not something you achieve. It’s not a grade, scholarship, award, milestone, or even an accomplishment. The Camp Gravatt Staff is not something that you get to do; it’s something that you already are. Being on staff just happens to be the thing you are doing while being the best version of yourself.”

Please join us in congratulating the 2026 Staffers of the Year: Leo LeGrand and English Edens! 🎉

The Frederick C. Byrd Outstanding Staffer of the Year Award was established in 1983 to recognize Permanent Staff members who excel in their roles at Camp Gravatt. Staff members nominate one male and one female recipient each summer, and some of the representative criteria are as follows:

🌲Participation in the total camp life
🌲Good example in word and deed
🌲Supportive of other staff
🌲A team player
🌲Puts the campers first always
🌲A positive Christian role model
🌲Goes beyond the call of duty

Leo and English embody all of these things and more. We are extremely grateful for their service to Gravatt, and we were thrilled to recognize and celebrate them yesterday alongside their families, Father Byrd, and recipients of the award from former summers. 💚

Alongside Alumni Weekend, we hosted our annual fishing tournament on Saturday! 🐟

Thank you to everyone who competed, and congratulations to Louis McElveen for winning the tournament with 14 fish! 🏆

Special shout out to current summer staffers Macy, Kate, and Helen (aka Rod Squad) for competing in the tournament after taking up fishing earlier this summer! These staffers learned how to fish during their periods off, and then they taught their campers how to fish during choice periods! Although they didn’t win this year, their custom jerseys were excellent, and we can’t wait to see them come back again next year! 🎣🎣🎣
