Stevie and her nine little rock stars are officially getting the rock-and-roll treatment!

We had an absolutely overwhelming response to the post, and we are so grateful to everyone who took the time to vote, share suggestions, and join in on the fun. It was so much fun seeing everyone’s enthusiasm!

Raising a mama and nine growing puppies takes a lot of supplies! We will be needing donations of:

Frances Hensley Animal Shelter has welcomed a very special family: ONE sweet momma and her NINE little potatoes! We have 5 boys and 4 girls, and we need YOUR help naming them!

These babies won’t be ready for adoption any time soon, but we want to get their story started and let our amazing community be part of the fun!

🏠🐱 A LITTLE SHELTER CAN MAKE A LIFE-SAVING DIFFERENCE!

As temperatures drop, outdoor community cats need a safe, warm, and dry place to escape the cold, wind, and rain. ❄️🌧️

The good news? You don't have to spend a fortune to help! You can build a simple, weather-resistant shelter using just a few inexpensive materials. 🛠️🐾

💙 HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP:

🏠 Build a shelter for the community cats in your neighborhood.

🌾 Use straw, NOT hay, blankets, towels, or beds to help keep the shelter warm and dry.

📍 Place the shelter in a safe, protected location elevated off the ground if possible. *If you're worried about water getting in the lid, please just turn the tote right side up!

📣 Share these instructions with friends, family, and neighbors so more outdoor cats can stay protected this winter!

You may not be able to bring every community cat indoors, but you can help make life outdoors safer and more comfortable for them.

🧡 Small shelter. Big difference. One more cat protected.

Join us today at Frances Hensley Animal Shelter for a fun-filled day supporting our shelter animals!

The Pumpkin Pawty is TOMORROW!

Still want to contribute? There’s still time! Baked goods can be dropped off at Frances Hensley Animal Shelter tomorrow as well.

Every treat sold helps support the animals in our care, and every little bit makes a difference.

FHH Animal Shelter is a private, 501(c)(3) no kill shelter. We have no oversight from any governmental agency aside from Federal requirements to operate legally as a non-profit organization. This is in keeping true to the vision of Mrs. Hensley, who desired to create a fully independent animal shelter free from the pressures of politics. We operate on donations and grants alone. We receive some donations from both Henderson County, Tennessee and the City of Lexington, TN, but are not funded or controlled by either entity in any capacity. The FHH Board of Directors is solely responsible for making all decisions pertaining to the shelter's activities.

We as a shelter have no involvement with the City of Lexington Animal Control. We occasionally accept animals that have come into their possession when we have space available. We have no knowledge of any of Animal Control's activities outside of the information available to the general public.

Our mission is and has always been to provide a space for local animals to receive care while awaiting an appropriate placement.

The Pumpkin Pawty is THIS SATURDAY!

The Frances Hensley Animal Shelter’s Pumpkin Pawty is quickly approaching! We hope you’ll join us for an afternoon of fall fun while supporting the animals in our care!

Saturday, October 24th, 11 AM – 3 PM
78 MIG Drive, Lexington, TN 38351

We’ll have a bake sale, pet costume contest, face painting, pumpkin painting, prizes, goodies, and reduced adoption fees. Enjoy spiced c***r, beverages from HTeaO, and popcorn from the Princess Theatre while you join in the fun!

We need your help with our bake sale! We are asking our wonderful supporters to contribute baked goods for the event. Every donation helps make this fundraiser a success. Every dollar raised goes toward caring for the animals at our shelter. If you can donate cookies, cakes, brownies, cupcakes, or other homemade treats, we would greatly appreciate it.

Baked goods can be dropped off at the shelter on Friday, October 23rd, between 9 AM and 5 PM.

Come spend some time with us, support your local animal shelter, and help us continue providing care for the animals who depend on us.

The colder temps are already here and we need your help keeping our shelter animals warm.

Our shelter's heating system needs repairs totaling $1,500, and right now, the animals housed in our quarantine area are without heat. We need to get these repairs taken care of so we can provide a warm, safe environment for the animals in our care.

We're asking our community to help us reach our $1,500 goal. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to getting the heat back on.

Donations can be made through Venmo or PayPal. If you prefer to donate in person, donations can also be dropped off at the shelter during regular business hours.
