Lexington Rotary Club

Lexington Rotary Club was chartered in October 1936. We meet every Tuesday at noon at First Baptist Church. Come join us!

The club consists of business leaders and individuals in our community that are dedicated to "Service Above Self".

On June 2, 2026, Rotarian Chris Alexander presented to Rotarians at Broad Street Church of Christ. He provided fellow Rotarians with a history of Lexington Rotary including past service projects, programs, and fundraising events. Additionally, he allowed new members within the past three years to provide brief overviews of themselves and how they would like to see Rotary progress in the future.

Following Memorial Day on May 26, 2026, the club welcomed the American Legion Post 77 Honor Guard. They posted the colors, played Taps, and spoke on the work of The Legion.

On May 19, 2026, SSG Jeremiah Bryant was welcomed by President Nick Jones. He spoke to the club on Recruitment and Retention for the Tennessee Army National Guard. He emphasized benefits to employers when they employ Guard members. The Guard also offers programs to help with education and job placement. This also benefits both the soldiers and the employers.

On May 12, 2026, Rotarian Chris Alexander brought a report on the Multi-gun Fundraisers. For thirteen years these matches have significantly helped fund our projects. After a time of reporting, Chris spoke on future matches and how they can be improved. Several valid tv suggestions were made from the floor. The fourteenth annual match will be October 24, 2026.

On May 5, 2026, we recognized the 2026 Rotary Scholarship winners. Pictured with President Nick Jones (center) are: Alan Jones, Russell Wilson, Taylor Franklin, and Ava Salmon. Each shared about themselves and their educational plans.

On April 28, 2026, America’s Most-Decorated Living Veteran Colonel James C. Harding (USAF) was welcomed by President Nick Jones. He spoke of his two tours in the Vietnam theater rescuing downed flyers. He also shared a video and a pictorial presentation of two actual rescues.

On April 21, 2026, President Nick Jones (center) welcomed Eddie Allred (right), Rotary District 6770 Polio Plus Chair, and Darrell Alishie (left), District Foundation Chair. They are both former District Governors.

Rotarian Barry Wood, Tashiqua Rutherford, Toywona Mayo, Vice President Penny Hensley, Patrick Jaynes, William Cothron, and Don Harris presented the program on April 14, 2026. They brought information from the USDA and the Lexington Housing Authority, including an emphasis on housing for veterans.

Lexington Rotary Club welcomed Lexington High School Baseball Coach Brad Dyer and Softball Coach Mason Taylor today. The coaches discussed their current seasons and playoff aspirations. They each talked about how proud they were of their teams and the support they receive from the community.
