Lexington Rotary Club Lexington Rotary Club was chartered in October 1936. We meet every Tuesday at noon at First Baptist Church. Come join us!

On August 25, 2026, Rev. Roger Brown and Alba Crockett were welcomed by President Penny Hensley. Roger spoke on food insecurity. Currently 17.3 % of the county population experiences food insecurity. Alba spoke on the local efforts of First United Methodist to meet this need. They usually serve over 100 residents each week.

On the first day of school, August 4, 2026, President Penny Hensley welcomed Director Danny Beecham from the Henderson County Schools. He shared some numbers for the 2026-27 school year. Some of the numbers are:
4000 students
656 employees, 290 are classroom teachers
10 schools with 47 insured structures
41 buses transporting 2000 students

The system is the county’s largest transportation system, largest employer, largest work force development organization, largest food service, largest clinic with school nurses, and many others.

Over 97% students graduated last year. Many of these had work certifications and/or college credits. Some graduated High School with a associates degree from college.

On July 28, 2028, Ryan French was welcomed by President Penny Hensley. Ryan is the road sergeant for The Tennessee Highway Patrol Troop D covering Henderson and Decatur counties. He spoke to the commonly asked questions concerning vehicles, road usage, cell phones, and more.

On July 21, 2026, President Penny Hensley presided over a double program. First, Robbie Jowers (on Penny’s left) spoke on her work as the Professional Services Coordinator for Woodland Homes. She oversees the activities of the residents. Following Robbie, Megan Vineyard, Henderson Co. Finance Director and fellow Rotarian, (on Penny’s right) spoke on the work of the Henderson County Finance Department. She explained the work of the department in handling, tracking, and dispensing approximately 75 million dollars in budgets for all County and BOE departments. Megan began working in the department as a part time employee while in High School. For the last three and a half years, Megan has served as Finance Director.
