Our Chapter met at Farmhouse this evening after being off schedule for the past 2 months. 70 attended. The meal and fellowship was great!!! Our Chapter Chaplain, Anthony Goodman (Pictured), gave a short talk on what he does as a volunteer chaplain at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He provides children patients with a stuffed animal given thru donations for this worthy cause. Receiving the animals brings them much joy in their time of need. He does the same with residents at our local nursing homes-- especially with those who have no one left in their family. They feel all alone and that no one cares. Anthony brings them a ray of hope. He challenged the Chapter members to donate stuffed animals for this cause. Bring them to the meetings. We will collect them for Anthony.... Announcements were given by the Reps... We are in a new office location: 1009 Hwy 412-E, Suite C, Lexington, TN (beside the old Dan's Cafe... now the Loaded Spud). Callie Moody led us in a song... and then we adjourned. Our Chapter met this evening for our Christmas dinner. About 75 were in attendance. After the meal, we were entertained by Lakelyn Lemmings (photo below) who is a wonderful young singing star. She sang some traditional Christmas songs. She was fantastic! We wish her well as she advances in her career of recording and song writing. Chapter officers were elected for 2025; We announced the State WoodmenLife Convention to be held in mid-May in Franklin, TN. We will be delivering many Christmas gifts donated by members for the children associated with the Carl Perkins Center for the prevention of Child Abuse. This was our Q4 Common Bond project. Thanks to all members who brought in gifts. To learn more about WoodmenLife, call us at 731-968-9049 or check out www.woodmenlife.org.

Our Chapter met his evening at Farmhouse Restaurant in Lexington. Around 100 members and guests attended. We honored all veterans present with a free meal. Our guests presenters were Air Force Cpt. Ken Sullivan and some of his outstanding cadets from the AFROTC Program at Lexington High School. They all did a great job acqainting us with what they do in their activities, academics, leadership and character. We presented a 5'x8' Flag to the ROTC cadets to be flown at their school later this school year. We wish the cadets the best as they advance thru life and perhaps choose a military career. We had a very good time this evening at our monthly Chapter 49 meeting. About 70 members and guests came and enjoyed a delicious buffet meal. We welcomed 2 local guitarists, Dennis Smith and Ed Hayes, who performed some "good ole" country music (from Merle Haggard, etc). They did an awesome job entertaining us. Afterwards, a Q3 "Fight Hunger" report was given. We made plans for the Q4 "Common Bond" activity. That's the Christmas gifts for the local Carl Perkins Center in December. Also, the giant "Red, White and Blue Flag" will be presented Oct 31 at the LHS Homecoming football game. Anyone who would like to help, come a little before half-time. We would like to have you as a WoodmenLife member. To learn more about WoodmenLife, call the Reps: Gayle or Stacy at 731-968-9049 or go to the web: www.woodmenlife.org.
