With our Spring & Summer workshops kicking off this week, I had to take a moment to reflect on an incredible Fall/Winter season. Our inaugural class of 16 students made history as part of Lexington’s very first performing arts program at the Montgomery Cultural & Enrichment Center and what a season it has been!
Our Fall/Winter series began with our 4-week beginner modeling workshop, “Pose & Purpose”, where students didn’t just learn how to walk the runway, they learned how to walk in confidence, power, and purpose. From collaborating with a local retailer, meeting Miss TN Petite, to experiencing their very first professional photoshoot, they truly stepped into who they are meant to be.
Next came “ACT UP: Confidence Through Character”, our acting workshop that challenged these rising stars to find their voice, own the camera, and command the stage. With a special guest experience and a live musical outing to Guys and Dolls, they were fully immersed in the world of performance.
We wrapped the season with an unforgettable Christmas celebration and our first-ever community showcase: the iconic F.R.O.S.T Runway Show featuring Nashville designer Evan Grey and local boutiques like URBAN CLOSET! These students gone on to work on stage and make the front page and be featured in many articles!
This Spring, we introduce “The Artist Lab”, our voice and music performance workshop, featuring a special guest vocal coach and a fun, interactive “Intro to DJing” experience. Students will develop and perform a song of their choice in an exclusive showcase. Then, we close out the year with “Pitch the Purpose”, our leadership and personal development workshop, where students will collaborate, create, and pitch their own original concepts as future leaders and creatives. We are truly blessed to see just what our youth can do when they discover THE TALENT WITHIN!
We are beyond excited for what’s ahead and the powerful community showcases still to come. The growth, the talent, the purpose, it’s only getting bigger from here. ✨
